Another image from Mongolia, the land of the huge skies. It's just unbelievably beautiful and you can hear yourself breathe. Horse milk tastes great Yak cheese less so but the vodka they distill from Yaks'milk is superb. Mongolian mutton pies superb and vegetables... What vegetables? 😁

This morning's breakfast is a combination of fried chorizo slices, ratatouille from the bottomless freezer and some jasmine rice. Spicy enough to wake me up!

Today’s Brekkie: Pasta e Fagioli
@robertamuir made a pot full of this last night for dinner and there was just enough left for me to have a small bowl for breakfast. She made it with tiny shell pasta, chickpeas in a spicy home-made chicken stock and poached an egg in it for good measure. This morning I had the leftovers with a new egg and some grated Parmesan on top.

Today’s Brekkie: Egg & Cheese Bake
This morning the mice were running out of the fridge with tears in their eyes and I had to look hard to come up with a suitable breakfast. I beat one egg with a little cream, added salt and white pepper. Placed it into the bottom of a bowl. Then I sliced sucuk finely and layered the slices over the egg. Then I grated Gruyère cheese over the sausage and finished it off with bread crumbs and a little butter. Into a 200℃ oven for 17 minutes and served with some @beerenbergfarm tomato chutney.

This image needs a bit of explanation: this is the real McCoy Mongolian BBQ where the meat, vegetables spices and water all get cooked over an open fire in a milkcan with hot rocks and with a cloth under the lid to let some steam escape. We were staying with a family of nomadic people in the middle of nowhere and they cooked this for us. Absolutely amazing flavours and we ate it in our ger (yurt) with a low fire burning in the centre to keep us warm through the night. Once you leave the main city this country is amazingly untouched. No roads, hardly any villages, all you see are the occasional clusters of tents and a lot of semi wild horses and yaks.

Australia... The country of lost rocks
Nowhere else do you see so many gatherings of rocks that seem to have no reason to be there. In the middle of a field, no mountains around, laying around a clump of trees, etc. They are of course placed there just to attract photographers.
