Looks like our song won't be ready before I leave for four weeks this weekend but we will finish it in May 😊 took this shot a couple of nights ago on our last rehearsal - handy to have the music gear in a photographic studio 😊 @pouriashakibaie Although I set the shot up it was @saffrononly who pressed the shutter release just at the right time 😊 #leica #leicaimages #leicacraft

@pouriashakibaie and myself are working on a song together - I am doing the music and Pouria is working on the words in Farsi. We should have it finished sometime in March. Here are the words in English for you: H O M E
By Franz Scheurer + Pouria Ari Shakibaie - written on 25th and 26th January 2016
Cigarette burns in the carpet
Sweat stains on the bed
The fake moans of a hooker earning supper from next door
The stink of stale beer, cold smoke and rotting garbage coming through the floor
An old man collapses in the hallway
Bloody faced and knotted hair
The Chinese cook reads a day old paper as an ambulance eventually stops outside
Life, as it is, just goes on
It may be squalor to some, but it is home to me
Grubby men are playing poker
With money they don't have
Scary bouncers guard an entrance
Where no one dares to go
Scrawny dogs check out the bins
While randy cats call out for sins
Dirty needles on the footpath
Empty bottles on the road
Life is writing its own stories
From what it sees not what it's told
For some it might be squalor but for me it's home
Next door is a pool hall
If you want a crooked game
Down the road is an all night boozer
If you drink to stay insane
Bent cops pick up their spoils
As small-fry gangster have no fear
And as a homeless clutches a half-empty bottle
We step across the junkies laying in our way and believe in what we say: sure there will be another day
I know to some it's squalor but it's just home to me
You can hear the cheers of the greedy crowd
Betting on tonight’s bare-knuckled fight
Everyone loves a winner, pass me the money, alright
No one can hear the tears, no one sees the light
All the pain in vain no matter what might be right
Pass me another drink!
The world keeps spinning
The table is winning
The insane are grinning
I may be in the shit but look, I’m alive, like never before
Yes, to some it’s squalor but it’s my home, to the core! #iranianartist #iran #art #music #poetry
