RACE REPORT

Finley Manser-Grundy (@full_send_finn) puts in a brilliant ride at Sunday’s Wessex Cyclocross League event in Newbury, taking 3rd place overall in the Under 10s.

It was a cold and foggy morning, with the course featuring plenty of tight, twisty corners alongside a long dragging climb that tested the riders throughout the race.
Having learnt from his previous race, Finley made sure he was in the right gear for the start and it paid off. He got away brilliantly, heading into the first corner in second place and racing amongst the top three over the opening laps.

As the race settled down, Finley established himself in third and gradually built a good gap over fourth. He kept the pressure on right through to the finish to secure a well-deserved podium.

A really positive race, showing great progress and learning from previous events, and Finley was delighted to come away with third place.

Thanks go out to team sponsors Wightlink Isle of Wight Ferries, Island Renewables Ltd, Wight Mountain, Rapanui, KReative Studios and Adrian’s Bike Shop for their continued support.

Happy lad.

First race so not gridded, but was fun trying to chase the front and only had one crash with the tape trying to get by 😂

Massive thanks to @wightlinkcrt for all the support to get him up and racing this circuit.
