So chuffed that my portrait of morris dancer and artist Alex Merry is in this month’s National Geographic Traveller magazine. Seeing my images in print is always so much nicer than on a tiny screen. This portrait is from 2016 when I started taking photographs of morris dancers around the UK. Thanks for posing all those years ago @alexmerryart @boss.morris

My studio has always been a space consumed by itself. An environment. A space inhabited by colour, form and materiality. Much like a painting, the studio has agency. Through its ever changing output of sketches, drawings, paintings on paper, written notes and works on canvas, the space in which I work becomes an extension of my practice.

Thanks to Rachel for capturing the tactility and atmosphere of my working space with a certain clarity that reflects its identity.

Pleased to say I have donated a print to Huck magazine’s charity print sale. All proceeds will go to @chooselove in support of refugees worldwide 💘🌏

The image is a portrait of balaclava-wearing bell-jingling stick-bashing morris dancers @inthewad from deepest darkest Cornwall. I followed them round Exeter one day a couple of years ago for my long term project documenting the weird and wonderful world of English folk dance.

Link to buy the print is in @huckmagazine bio 🔗

Finally caught up with Charlie Cooper's folklore series on BBC this week and loved it - great to see some of the Morris beasts I have photographed over the years on there! @charlie11cooper

Here is Ewegenie of Boss Morris, Brixton Tatterjack's 'oss made from Sainsbury's carrier bags, Barbara the Bunny Beast of Bodmin, Boris the Gloucestershire Boar, Erstwhile’s moon-faced Jera and London town's Big Pidge 🐦 by @functioningphotographer

A bit late posting but I’m really glad I got to see a couple of this year’s rushcarts. Actually felt a bit emotional as they came round the corner - such beautiful works of art! A tradition from the times when churches and homes around Lancashire had rushes for carpets, and a joyful way to let go of summer 🌗🌾 #hasselblad by @functioningphotographer
