Introducing, Jenny Eden, as our next painter for the BONE DEEP exhibition.

Eden is a painter, writer and Senior Lecturer at Manchester School of Art, MMU. Her work foregrounds the painting process in relation to psychoanalysis, being-ness and psycho-pictorial oscillation, considering the painter-writer figure along with ‘relational dynamics’ and ‘agential writing’ as concepts within painting and writing.

My studio has always been a space consumed by itself. An environment. A space inhabited by colour, form and materiality. Much like a painting, the studio has agency. Through its ever changing output of sketches, drawings, paintings on paper, written notes and works on canvas, the space in which I work becomes an extension of my practice.

Thanks to Rachel for capturing the tactility and atmosphere of my working space with a certain clarity that reflects its identity.

As @chooselove celebrates its 10th birthday, we are running a fundraising print sale for the charity, which supports refugees and displaced people across the world.

Over the past decade, they have supported more than 5 million refugees, in over 30 countries, through supporting its network of on-the-ground, community and local partners. This year, they have been the charity partner for the massive Together for Palestine (t4plive) concert, which raised money for @taawonpalestine, @thepcrf and @palestinianmedicalreliefsoc to provide aid and support on the ground in Gaza, while they are currently campaigning to get new fundraising single ‘Lullaby’ to hit Christmas #1.

We have enlisted 14 photographers iwho have contributed to Huck in recent years to provide a print for the sale, fitting the theme ‘Borderless’. See the full selection of prints, and purchase one to support Choose Love at the link in our bio.

Huck x Choose Love print sale, part 1.

This winter, we have teamed up with 14 of our favourite photographers and contributors to raise money for @chooselove.

The charity – which celebrates its 10th birthday this year and recently opened its pop-up shop on Regent Street in central London, where people can buy lifesaving interventions and supplies for refugees – works with hundreds of on the ground organisations from Palestine, Sudan, Syria and elsewhere, to deliver aid and support to refugees in a total of 51 different countries.

It comes as a record 120 million people have been displaced across the world as people flee war, famine, environmental disasters, political persecution, and more. In this context, we believe that it’s important to come together and support each other, and the work that Choose Love does is brilliant and invaluable.

Each photographer has kindly donated a print of a picture that we’ve published in recent years to fit a loose theme of ‘Borderless’, which we see as an antidote to growing anti-migrant rhetoric and an ever emboldened far right here in the UK and beyond. If there’s one consistent thread in human history, it’s movement, and we believe that everyone regardless of where they are from, should be able to live with dignity.

100% of the profits from each sale will be donated to Choose Love. Each print will be 8x11 inches, with a variable white border and printed on C Type Fuji Gloss paper.

See the full set of photographs featured and Choose Love by purchasing a print at the 🔗 in our bio.
