No, though it was a beautiful summer day , she is not absorbed in a beach read . it’s June 24, 2022 with the news of “Rowe v. Wade”
I still remember that afternoon working with Walker , hence “Absorbed” came to be.
Like these present days - it’s too easy to find oneself “down the rabbit’s hole”
🌞 better to feel the sun shining down on this old straw hat of mine , it’s now enjoying it’s 18th summer 🌞
It was exciting to reproduce this print from my charcoal original with @funkandschuster .
It’s their first Studio Show of all their represented artists ..
Onward and many more!

✨ A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us at the opening reception for Funk & Schuster at Rugosa Gallery last Friday! ✨

Between the art, the oysters, and the overwhelming love from our Provincetown and Rugosa families, it was a celebration of creativity and community we’ll never forget. 🖼️🦪🌸🙏

Seeing decades of Vlad’s craft alongside the incredible works of so many talented artists, all exhibited together for the first time— was powerful and inspiring.

The gallery is open daily through Labor Day, and after that, by appointment.

Come experience it in person! 👀

“A friend of mine was getting rid of their printing press, and I asked Billy Evaul — the legendary white line woodblock printmaker — if he thought it was a good idea to set up a printmaking studio in Provincetown for local artists.

Billy said, ‘Sure, that’s a great idea!’

…Then he was a little shocked when I sent him a video of the presses being lifted into the studio by a crane. The machines were a lot bigger than he expected.

That was the start of Funk & Schuster.”

- From Vlad, owner & print master of Funk & Schuster:

What is a Lithograph? 🖼️

A lithograph is a timeless printmaking technique that artists have cherished for centuries. Unlike digital reproductions, each lithograph is created by hand—drawn directly on stone or metal, then pressed onto paper. This process captures the artist’s gesture, texture, and energy in a way that feels alive.

Come see lithographs created over the last decade by dozens of talented artists and printed by Master Printer Vladimir Schuster at our upcoming show:

What is monoprinting?

One-of-a-kind images pulled from an inked plate.

Why we love it: texture, plate tone, surprise.
