[Link in bio] In August 2026, Vienna-based artists @oskerhase and @funkyfiona were in Tyrol for an artist residency at @grund1535. Working with found materials from the nearby forest, the river Inn and the surroundings of GRUND, they created surreal creatures, ornamental sculptures and a hypnotic music video.

The residency was connected to the pre-event of the music video award @die_goldeneschindel, which took place at GRUND1535 on 2 October 2026.

@raya.sotirova was there to follow the artists’ process and talked with them about how new surroundings shape their artistic practice.

Musikvideo, Film und Kunst kommen in Rietz zusammen. 🎬✨

Am 2. Oktober sind wir mit der goldenen Schindel im Grund 1535 zu Gast. Auf dem Programm stehen ein Vortrag von Sam Siefert, die Ausstellungseröffnung von Oskerhase & Funky Fiona, ein Screening von Karin Ferrari und zum Abschluss ein Live-Set von The Creepy Silence.

In this presentation, hybrid worlds emerge at the intersection of nature, mythology, and technology—worlds where familiar orders are destabilized.
Amidst ice flowers, displaced wolves, artificially singing birds, luminous landscapes, cyborgs, dragons, and digital visions, a cosmos takes shape in which the archaic and the post-digital coexist as a matter of course. The artists craft speculative narratives concerning transformation, memory, technology, and humanity’s relationship with its environment. What emerges is neither a vision of the future nor a return to nature, but a multi-layered in-between realm in which nature, mythology, and technology have become inseparably intertwined.

У пошуках весни, рівноваги та гармонії завітала на виставку до Artecont у Відні.
Найбільш гармонійними, збалансованими та магнетичними мені відчулися художні композиції з природних матеріалів та елементів біжутерії, створені молодою мисткинею Фіоною. Її роботи приваблюють віддзеркалюючою симетрією, усвідомлено підібраними символами, акуратно і виважено вплетеними сенсами. Завдяки спокійному золотому покриттю композицій та прозорим краплям на них від робіт віє теплом, світлом і життям. Незважаючи на різноманітність елементів, об'ємні картини художниці не розвалюються, бо кожна з них тяжіє до центру: завжди присутній найсильніший акцент, до якого "стікаються всі річки". А ще, особисто мені, в цих роботах відчувається любов, що може зцілювати. Якщо довго дивитися, то можна впасти в легкий транс, розслабитися, заспокоїтися та повернутися оновленою/-им. Тож на мене ці дивовижні композиції мали терапевтичний, зцілюючий вплив. Хто знає, можливо, для вашого ментального здоров'я та гармонізації стосунків із собою та світом вони також стануть знахідкою. Просто завітайте, якщо життя закине Вас до Відня. ARTECONT YOUNG ART WEEKS III - VIENNA SURREAL

FUNKYFIONA
funkyfiona arbeitet mit gesammelten Naturmaterialien und wiederverwendeten Fundstücken: getrocknete Pflanzen, Wurzeln, Holzfragmente, Moos, Pilze, Steine, Kristalle, Knochen oder Geweihe treffen auf alte Schmuckelemente und Metallteile. Das Finden der einzelnen Komponenten ist für sie kein Nebenschritt, sondern ein zentraler Teil des Werks. Am Anfang steht das Sammeln, Reinigen, Trocknen und Sortieren; im Atelier entsteht daraus eine tragende Grundform – häufig aus Holz, Draht oder einem bereits bestehenden Objekt. Darauf baut sie Schicht für Schicht weiter, intuitiv und sehr körperlich: wickeln, verbinden, fixieren, umstrukturieren. Draht dient oft als Nervensystem, das organische Linien, Verzweigungen und Wachstumsbewegungen ermöglicht. Harte und weiche, raue und glatte, stabile und vergängliche Materialien werden gezielt kombiniert. Die Arbeiten entstehen als plastische Wandobjekte oder frei hängende Skulpturen, teils mit integrierten Lichtquellen – wie eine bewusst geschaffene „zweite Natur“ voller Farben, Erinnerungen und mystischer Opulenz.

FABIAN KÖTTL
Fabian Köttl entwickelt seine Malerei aus einem freien Gedankenfluss. Träume, Märchen, Mythen und präzise Alltagsbeobachtungen sind Ausgangspunkte, die im Malprozess weitergeführt werden. Die Bilder entstehen ohne festgelegten Plan, sondern Schritt für Schritt, assoziativ und offen. Auf der Leinwand formieren sich präzise gemalte, zugleich rätselhafte Szenen mit grotesken Figuren, überraschenden Kombinationen und irritierenden Situationen. Entscheidend ist nicht die Abbildung einer äußeren Wirklichkeit, sondern eine eigenständige Bildlogik, in der das Verdeckte, Unklare oder schwer Benennbare Form annimmt. Die Arbeiten sind detailreich und dicht komponiert. Sie laden dazu ein, länger zu schauen, Spuren und Hinweise zu entdecken und eigene Zusammenhänge herzustellen. Gerade weil sich vieles nicht sofort auflöst, entsteht Spannung und ein Sog in den Bildraum hinein. taken in Artecont Gallery by @funkyfiona
