Every girl deserves the power to shape her own future. 🌍

At CWPAI, we believe empowering women and transforming Africa starts with girls: their education, their opportunities, their right to choose. Child marriage stands in the way of all three.

Join us for Her Life, Her Future, Her Choice, a virtual roundtable in our Women Who Build series, bringing together leaders, advocates, and young voices to talk about what it takes to change that.

📅 Sunday, 11th October 2026

Tag someone who should be in this conversation. 💚

Women build in different ways. Sometimes, through quiet acts of courage and determination, which creates space and opportunities for others.
Join our conversation with Dr Mercy Elohor Diebiru-Ojo, an agricultural scientist, innovator, and African Food Prize Laureate 2025 and Mumbi Mbocha, Head of Global Inclusion at the World Food Programme and be inspired.

Our traveling tapestry has began it's journey.

My tapestry square is called BECOMING.

It represents growth, expansion, and the courage to explore new paths. As I stitched, I found myself reflecting on the many ways women shape food systems, communities, culture, and policy—often while navigating their own journeys of transformation.

I enjoyed the process. What I thought would be stressful became a moment of creativity, reflection, and connection.

This square is a reminder that we are all becoming—learning, evolving, and finding new ways to tell our stories.

We recently launched the Traveling Tapestry Project, a collaborative initiative that uses stitched fabric squares to explore women’s stories, identities, contributions, and aspirations.

On Sunday, our team held the first workshop for the project, led by UK-based artist Jo Beal and joined by our Nigerian partner, Mrs. Bisi Sotunde of BusyBee Events.

The goal was not to complete the tapestry, but to learn the process together so that each participant can go on to facilitate similar sessions within her own community.

The squares are still a work in progress, but the conversations have already begun.
Over the coming months, women across Africa and the diaspora will create their own squares through community workshops and gatherings. When these individual pieces are brought together, they will form a collective tapestry, a visual archive that reflects the experiences, memories, work, and aspirations of the women who contributed to it.

There’s something powerful about women gathering in one room — not just to speak, but to grow, encourage, and build together.

Garment of gratitude + Garden of gratitude.

Don’t miss the next one.
