Funny Livdotter, Swedish textile and visual artist, has been with Ballina Fringe Festival and TheNCF as artist in residence for the last 2 weeks.

Having made the epic journey from Sweden to Ballina, Funny has focused their time here on developing A Depiction of They, a series of textile sculptures exploring memento mori through the lens of LGBTQIA+ identity and collective resilience.

By transforming ”loved-to-death” garments and donated relics into physical archives of lived experience, Funny has used mortality as a tool for celebration rather than mourning.

Funny's residency comes to an end this Friday, and we close out with an Artist Talk, where Funny will talk through their work, their process, and about the Homografiska Museet (A queer museum in Sweden that they run). In this, Funny will discuss the importance of queer archives, how it operates and what opportunities that creates and keeps on giving.

Funny's work created during their residency will also be on display.

We'd love you all to join us for this residency wrap event - 8pm Friday 9 October upstairs at TheNCF. If you've never been, this is a great excuse to visit!

Admission free, all welcome.

Some of you have seen the stories I post, that I am in Ireland for an artist in residence. Two weeks in Ballina; with a studio to make work. Before I arrived we asked people to donate garments, accessories or similar together with a text - to be made into a collective piece of memories.

Soon the time will end, on Friday (Oct 9th) I will show my progress and talk about my practice as an artist, my community and my queer museum.

I will post about the result soon, but there is still much more too do. This opportunity has been so inspiring and important. And the hospitality is amazing!

🏳️‍🌈 When I am not doing art - I am making a difference. 🏳️‍🌈

This is my part of bringing back Pride to where I live. A queer day of love, support and acceptance, that will grow a community and make Dalsland better and queer.

I have organised this Pride parade, illustrated stickers that we handed out as a gift to everyone that participated and a made the opening speech.

It has been sweat, sweet and hard work; and it was pure joy I have not felt in a long time. Thank you all who walked with me, all the hugs you gave me and all the love that was shared this day.

Hello there!

This is me. In my studio. Just waiting for a wonderful opportunity to do my best.

My ten years of working at Mötesplats Steneby as a communicator has come to an end. That has been a crazy experience, where I got to grow, learn and become the kick-ass communicator that I am today. I am forever grateful for this, but now I am looking for something new and challenging!

I’m currently working as communicator at @notquitefengersfors and running @homografiska and my creative business. I am for hire, but also for gigs.

What can I do?

Exhibits at Dalslands Konstmuseum (Upperud) March 14 - April 31 as part of a group exhibition with the title “Vårt land, mitt Dalsland”. 60 exhibitors from Dalslands Konstnärsförbund.

Sculpture (bunny/hare) made of air dried clay, piercings and a water coloured pen (tattoos).

Hekh launched its second edition on 29th November, 2025 at Shared Ecologies, New delhi; with activations and presentations by @smritirastogi15 @paribartana_mohanty and @funny_livdotter.

THE VIOLET DOOR
KÄRLEKEN I BILLINGSFORS
A love letter to Kärleken in Billingsfors, fragments of a story, unseen people and queer people hiding in plain sight through history. Hyperlocal conversation but highly global problem.

Very proud of this purple exhibition at Halmens Hus.
Exhibition period was: September 6 - October 11 (2025). At Halmens Hus, Bengtsfors @halmenshus

Four pieces:
🎀 full body pixelated portrait, raw fabric pieces sawed together as a loose quilt. 220 x 390 cm

🎀 an anatomical heart from scrap fabrics and tread with lavender colour pearls, slowly rotating by a motor

🎀 a purple towel with the embroidered letters “KÄRLEKEN” (translated to “the love”)

Fragment av någons minne blir flyktigt återberättat. Något ogreppbart blir porträtterat. Bitar försöks lägga på plats. Eftersom det för mig blir som en skröna, en myt - kan jag bara fantisera.

Exhibition with Homografiska at Konstepidemin. A small glass room will transform in to a purple haven where we present all 30 art pieces in the permanent collection via interactive videos.
