Did you know? 1 in 3 Canadian children can’t afford to play organized sports because of the cost. That’s where FUNSports comes in. We’re a charity dedicated to giving low-income kids free access to sports — with the help of volunteers, community partners, and even Canadian professional athletes. Together, we’re making sure every child has the chance to play, belong, and thrive. Here’s how you can help: $5 a month ($60 a year) = a whole fall season of sports for one child. $10 a month = a full school year of play.Every dollar breaks down barriers and creates more high fives. 🙌 👉 Give 5 for High 5s » Click the link in bio to join the movement and give the gift of FUN! #Give5ForHigh5s #FUNSports #EveryKidCanPlay #Fives4FUN #PowerOfSport #KidsDeserveToPlay #FromSidelinesToGame #TeamworkForAll #HighFivesForKids #BreakingBarriers #PlayBelongThrive #StrongerTogether #SportsForChange #CommunityInAction by @funsports.fun

We are riding for more than a finish line. In 2019, I rode across the island of Newfoundland and without much preparation, managed to raise over $5000 for a great cause. As two busy professionals (who are no spring chickens!), training for Cape Epic is a huge commitment. I am documenting our story so others can see that if we can do something like this, so can you. And we also want to do all the good we can for people and causes we care about along the way. So, while the bulk of our costs are self-funded, we are seeking sponsors aligned with our values who want to be a part of our journey. It’s more than a logo on a jersey. It means standing behind a story that people will see themselves in, lending your name to causes that matter, and helping two amateur athletes prove what real resilience can look like. Together, we can make this ride mean something much more than an 8-day suffer fest. One of our partners is @funsports.fun founded by Dave Green right here in Atlantic Canada. FUNSports helps bring sports to kids from public housing backgrounds with the belief that every child should have the chance to explore their athletic potential and discover the sports they love. We’ve both experienced what sport can do over our lifetime. Your $5 monthly donation can give a child access to sports that they might not have gotten otherwise. We know the impact of this and that’s why we are partnering with FUNSports. by @funsports.fun

One-third of Canadian parents with children under the age of 18 are unable to register their children in organized sports due to the high cost. That is where FUNSports comes in to provide kids with limited resources free access to a range of sports. With the help of volunteers, community partners, and Halifax’s top athletes and coaches, we work to provide every child with the opportunity to play. @funsports.fun recently organized a Lacrosse 🥍 and Softball 🥎 day for the kids of Mulgrave Park and Highfield Park and they are looking forward to the next event already. For ways to support a great cause, check out the FUNSports page and website, plus as a registered charity all donations through CanadaHelps gets an instant tax receipt. taken in North End Halifax by @funsports.fun
