Grateful to be part of these projects – satellite station, railways, hospitals, & a towerless airport!

Would’ve shown you the spicy stuff – defence, desal etc. but apparently “national security” is more important than clout. 🫢

ENGINEERING. OFF THE FEED. ON THE PANEL. 🎤

I joined the panel to answer students’ questions about the industry, sharing my perspective as a working engineer & the founder of @futureengineerguide.

A degree teaches you the fundamentals. Speaking with practising engineers helps you understand what the work looks like –and what to expect beyond graduation.

Thank you to @goldfishandbay , @engsoc & @utsengineeringandit for making this conversation possible.

AI can write code now, so is Software Engineering still worth it in 2026? 👀 The answer depends on whether you think the job is just “writing code.”

Software still powers finance, healthcare, robotics, transport, aerospace and almost every major industry. The value is shifting toward systems thinking, architecture, debugging, security and knowing how to use AI properly.

Engineering changes your vocabulary permanently.

The longer you study engineering, the harder normal conversations become.

What engineering word has ruined its normal meaning for you?

Engineering gets dangerous when you can solve the equation…

but still have no idea what’s actually happening.

That’s the difference between memorising the maths & actually building intuition.

Some concepts are hard because they’re abstract. Others are hard because the maths gets brutal. And some are difficult because even the models we use are only approximations of what’s really happening.

This ranking is subjective, based on abstraction, mathematical depth and how hard each concept is to genuinely understand.

Which concept took you the longest to finally “get”?

P&G above Apple, Google and NVIDIA was not on our 2026 bingo card.

Forbes and Statista asked more than 28,000 engineers which employers they’d recommend, alongside factors such as pay, benefits, development and flexibility.

And Sony came out #1.

Which company would be your first choice?

🚨 BREAKING: OPENAI says its AI has found a solution to the Navier–Stokes Millennium Prize Problem — one of mathematics’ most famous unsolved problems.

The equations describe how fluids like air and water move and sit at the heart of fluid mechanics, physics and engineering.

According to OpenAI, around 10,000 coordinating AI agents worked on the problem and reached the result in just 88 hours. The system produced both an analytical proof and a formal proof in Lean.

A problem that resisted mathematicians for roughly 90 years may have just entered a completely new chapter.

If the result withstands full mathematical scrutiny, this won’t just be a breakthrough in mathematics.

It could be a glimpse of how AI changes engineering and scientific discovery forever.
