Jenny Ross, sister of Future Primitives drummer Dave Ross created her labour of love feature documentary “Age of Rage” about Australian Punk. She completed it not long before her untimely, devastating death.
SBS on-demand is screening her film for a final 3 week season now.
The film has many connections… Dave Ross is documented with his early bands inc Civil Dissident. Future Primitives Matt Black also features in interview about music inc his band The Fireballs. If you haven’t seen it, now is your chance.

So, Yesterdays gig with Plastic Section was a Humdinger! Thanks to all who were there…
Now as Future Primitives gigs are winding up a bit for the year we move on to next Sundays Ripsnorter!!!
Let’s hear all about who it from the man himself Billy Walsh who has put this extravaganza together…

“Gearhead supremo Mike LaVella is heading down under to throw a shrimp (sic) on the barbie and we just couldn’t let him walk the streets of Melbourne unaccompanied so we decided to throw a party while he’s here, showcasing his love of Aussie punk rock and everything vintage about the combustion engine (hot rods & chopped muscle cars).
He’ll be bringing armfuls of Gearhead Magazines with him and shoot the s’@t with anyone who will listen!
Entertainment will be seminal, including, The Wraylettes, who will purr their way through a set of Link Wray classics. The band features former Doll Squad geetar hero, Yolanda as well as Girl Monstar rhythm queen Sue World. Future Primitives, featuring Matt Black of Fireballs fame, Area 7’s Dave Jackson on keys and legendary tub-thumper Dave Ross from hardcore legends, Vicious Circle and several other sonic troupes.
Completing the line up, Spitting Chips, comprising a couple of original granddaddy’s of grunge and Cosmic Psychos, Bill and Dirty!
Need we say more? Oh, it’s free and doors at 3pm until 7pm.”
