THANK YOU so much for all your votes so far 🙏 I’m still in first place in my group to win Ryan Seacrest’s TOP HOST competition, but need sustained votes every day until the winners are announced in December.

If I win, @futurerichpodcast will be produced by iHeartRadio, and our team will take home $25,000, and be a guest on an episode of On Air with Ryan Seacrest!

First, save this post and add it to your to do list. For most people, taking an honest look at their debt is the hardest part! Grab a coffee and a donut and treat yourself to a morning of tackling your financial fears.

Here’s what I tend to recommend:

1. Determine how many loans (and credit cards) you have
2. See what your balances are for each‌
3. Check your interest rates & look to see if they are fixed or variable

That’s it! Now you’ve done the hardest part. From there you can figure out your strategy for getting them paid off.

As always, listen to Future Rich podcast to hear examples of real people getting their finances in order. New episodes drop every Friday 💚 by @futurerichpodcast

The one money thing we wish more new parents knew about setting their children up for a successful financial future is…

Education is everything! 👏 Parents need to teach their kids about money BEFORE they’re old enough to earn their own. Financial education will set your children up to be #FutureRich.

Barbara’s idea of a perfect Christmas gift? Becoming DEBT FREE! In our newest episode Future Rich, CFP @barbara_ginty met with Megan!

Megan is 38, lives in North Carolina, and works as an Office Manager. She got herself into a bit of a financial situation after moving in with her partner, has no retirement or emergency fund, and plans to move out in one year.

Don’t worry, Megan makes around $67K per year, just got a raise, and is dedicated to getting rid of her $21K of credit card debt! It may just mean a few months of hardcore budgeting to get her there…

Parents or parents-to-be! An emergency fund is not optional. 🚨💸

Life gets expensive fast, and having cash set aside gives your family breathing room when the unexpected hits. At @futurerichpodcast we recommend having a larger emergency fund than you would if you were just saving for yourself. Instead of having 6 months, aim for 9 to 12 months of essential spending saved.

If you’re building a family, this financial move belongs at the top of the list.

What’s one money thing you wish more new parents knew? 👀

Nobody is going to make a viral TikTok about this. 😂

It’s not a hot stock tip. It’s not a side hustle. It’s not a cashback app or a savings challenge you saw on Instagram.

It’s this: consistency.

The women who retire comfortably aren’t the ones who found the perfect investment. They’re the ones who never stopped showing up for their finances, even when life was expensive, even when it felt pointless, even when the market was scary. 📈

Here’s what boring consistency actually looks like:
🤖 Automating your savings so it happens without thinking
📅 Contributing to your retirement account every single paycheck
💳 Paying more than the minimum on your debt — every time
🛑 Not touching your investments when the market dips

That’s the whole secret. No hack. No shortcut. Just showing up. 💸
Boring wins every single time.

Five fundamental steps you can take now to reach financial freedom 💸

1. Do you have debt you need to pay off? A trip you need to save for? An emergency fund to build? Write down your goals 📝
2. Spend less than you earn. A simple concept that can sometimes be difficult to execute!
3. Pay yourself first aka put money towards your financial goals before that new outfit you’ve been eyeing 👀
4. Start investing early! Compounding interest is real and can do wonders for your future self!
5. Avoid high-interest debt and if you already have it pay it off first if you can. 💳
