It's update time! 📚

I feel honoured for so many new people to be on this journey, so I thought I owed it to you all to finally talk about my spy comedy WIP - even if it scares the life out of me. *Firmly puts big girl pants on* I hope I've not put you all off by sharing the synopsis 😂

What's your work in progress about? 👀

P.s I'm a faceless account because I am shy, however I am considering some unboxing videos with voiceovers...what do we think? If you hate the idea, speak now or forever hold your peace! 😅

What an evening!

This was the second time I've had the pleasure of listening to the super talented @authoradalyngrace with my best friend for company 😊

I was feeling it this morning after a long journey home though, I won't lie. Work nights going to London just aren't the one for these old bones anymore 🤣

Hearing Adalyn's process, her passions and how she created this new world, was equal parts fascinating and inspiring. I wish her the best of luck on her UK tour and cannot wait to read The Wretched Divine - seriously I'm so tempted to abandon my TBR to start it. I've heard nothing but incredible things 😍

Have you read the Belladonna series or The Wretched Divine yet? If you have, I'd love to know what you think! 👀👇🏻

P.s for anyone who loves a fun fact. The Belladonna series was written to Peter Gundry - so I just had to pick one of his songs for this 😊

It's October 1st, we've officially made it to spooky season guys!

In our home however, we got there about two weeks ago 😂

The study is one of my favourite places to be, whether I'm jotting down a note, doing my makeup, editing, going over ideas for our home reno or pursuing other creative works...it all begins in this ever changing space.

I feel extremely grateful to have made a safe space for myself out of Facebook marketplace items, antique shop finds and charity shop bargains that have been given a new lease of life. Special credits go to the women and her cat painting from TKMaxx, it made us both smile and therefore it had to come home 😅

For anyone remotely interested, I made the spooky wreath myself, the witchcraft books were a gift from a dear friend, the laptop case is from Skinny Dip, the skull pen pot is from Blackened Teeth, the wicker tray B&M, the circular skull painting is from TKMaxx and the taxidermy skull (lovingly called Credence) is from Lost and Profound 🖤

What's your favourite place to be creative? A sofa? Dining table? Desk? Anywhere you feel like? I'd love to know 👇🏻👀

Every time I put these posts together I realise two things:

1) I'm a much slower reader than I'd like to be 😬

2) I cannot for the life of me stick to my TBR 😅

A cheeky little shout out @authorliliangray approved an ARC copy of Threadbound which I started reading earlier in the week. I'm loving the unique magic system and am deffo getting dramione vibes. If you like enemies to lovers, please check out her page!

I'm struggling with Bury our Bones, but I think I just need to give it time...

As for King of Flesh and Bone, that bad boy has me hooked in an unhealthy way. I will not be elaborating 😂

I'm really looking forward to delving into All the ways we almost met by @lauratypedthis which is due to be released tomorrow! Run don't walk to order a copy, this gal is a legend 🖤

What are you reading at the moment and how are you finding it?

When you practically skip all the way home knowing book mail is waiting for you 😍 Yesterday felt like Christmas 😅

I'm not normally a lover of purple but the @fairyloot edition of Immortal Rose by Alexandra Bracken is a beauty!

The Wretched Divine by @authoradalyngrace and The Sweetest Fiend by @ravenkennedybooks are two stunning editions I've been highly anticipating!

I cannot wait to celebrate The Wretched Divine on Adalyn's book tour next month in London 🤩

Last but certainly not least, is a sprayed edge edition of the Ascended by Greenwich & Lennox from @waterstones.

Bonus context awaits you if you continue to the last slides 😜

All I need to do is find some space on my shelves now 😬

Have you read any of these yet? Are they on your TBR? Don't be shy, I want to know 👀🖤

Summer is drawing the curtains and Autumn is starting to lure us in with hot chocolates, darker evenings and a cool nip in the air.

Am I ready? No, not at all!

I am however looking forward to getting back onto the swing of things and catching up with you all!

I thought I'd start my first proper week back with a question. Do you prefer interacting with faceless accounts or do you prefer seeing the face of the author behind it? There's no right or wrong answer, I'm just curious.

This account began just over a year ago as a way to explore my creative side without the stigma of people knowing who I am. It meant I could be a truer version of myself without the walls of expectations and just be me. Rather than a preconceived version of me.

Picking up my manuscript again this weekend after almost a month off, a thought ran through my mind. People will see me at some point. My dream is to publish, to meet readers and other writers and support the shit out of them all. Doing that will mean my account and the way I view myself may need to adapt with it.

I always admire creators who are confident enough to show face, I'm just not there yet, but maybe sometimes soon...

So, I guess I'm curious to hear your reasons for staying anonymous, or not 😊

When the grammar on your post isn't correct but you are only human so roll with it anyways 🤣 at least you know I'm not an AI user! 🤷🏻‍♀️😅

It's Monday.

It's madness.

So let's just keep it simple by asking one, very important question...Which Prince Hector are you today?

I want to know everything, the food the bad and the ugly. Let it all out kids!

Seriously though, can it be Friday already?

I'll go first 👇🏻

Ready for your next Summerween read?

(Mostly) Human Resources by @graceviallwrites was not on my bingo card, however, when it arrived in the Cosy fantasy Fairyloot box, I was instantly intrigued.

Firstly, let's talk about how fun the cover is, I'm not a pink girly; but this is so cool!

From the first page, it felt fresh, different and had me hooked. The dynamic between Nic and Alexys is so relatable and funny:

"I'm not even trying to make you hate me."

"It's just effortless."

Have you read this gem yet? Is it up your street?

Note to self, write a review just after reading...Not weeks later when all the details have fled your brain like birds from an aviary...

✨ It’s that time again! ✨

Welcome to all the beautiful souls who are new around here. As often as I can, I share Flash Fiction Friday prompts. The aim is to provide creative spark for both new and seasoned writers to stretch those imaginative muscles.

No pressure, just pure storytelling fun. If you'd like a challenge, I’ll keep it short, sweet, and super simple:

- 250 words maximum (no minimum)
- it can either be poetry or a short story
- tag @g.swrites in your post so I can see what you've created and share it to my stories😊
- no time restraints

I can't wait to see what you all come up with! I'd love to say I'll have time to write this weekend, but that would be a lie 😅what are you guys up to? I'd love to know 👇🏻

Happy writing and an even happier weekend all!

"It's hard to see who I am when I am lost in what's expected of me."

Ever since I received my special edition copy of The Knight and The Moth by Rachel Gillig from @fairyloot, it's been staring at me from the shelf.

I finally caved and I couldn't be happier for giving in. My TBR list is still crying about it but that's an issue to deal with another day....

There's a lot to unpack but I don't want to give away any spoilers so all I'll say is this "Fear not, Bartholomew! Every day has its dog."

Have you read this yet? What did you think? This is a safe space, there are no wrong answers 😘🖤

The sun has abandoned us and everything feels kinda flat here right now...So I thought I'd ask a super important question on a Wednesday evening:

Which Prince Hector are you today?

I know, groundbreaking. I'll go first, I'm a solid 3.
