WINTER MAGIC

@hoka_eu invited me to run the 10th edition of the @winterrunseries 10km and dropped me some awesome kit to make sure I looked the part but with all this would I run a PB??
It was so good to bump into so many friends and @emancipatedruncrew family

After linking up @lewbloyce who was targeting a sub 38min 10km I headed to the start with the plan to run with him as long as I could. No surprises after such a busy weekend (and him being extremely fit) he dropped me around 2km.
The vibes were still high though and even dapped up @jontyruns as I passed @runlimited.ldn

As I crossed the finish line I knew I ran faster than my previous time of 43mins but by how much?
Drop your guesses in the comments

See you at the next race

LAGOS CITY MARATHON

The day has come to run the @lagoscitymarathon . Nerves, anticipation, excitement... it was all there and all real.
I've run marathons before but not like this.

The forecasted temperatures were in the 30°C.
So waking up to rain meant the course would be cooler, though the walk to the start would leave things dampened. Thankfully I had @samuelrichards_ to accompany past the night clubs and the boys to the start line, meeting @_symplywisdom on our way.

It was so good to see @danielsomade being recognised and people expressing their appreciation for motivating, inspiring or supporting them in their own journey.

Imagine my surprise when I see man dem at the start @suhaibshoots @tobs180

Anyway the race began and it felt OK. With water stops every 2.5km it was easy to keep our cool.
Though I'll admit the humidity started leaning on me early. However it was my guts that would betray me. Perhaps the Egusi night before was a bad choice. I'll spare you the details but I sent @danielsomade on his way.

Once I gathered myself I continued and did what real runners do... cheer and link up with other runners.
Saw @eniksnuel @pk_alio @ig.tobi and other Nigerian runners I've met online, but bgl I just wanted to get to the finish. Crossing the line was the end of one adventure but the beginning of another. I hope if you take anything from this story it is this... Nigeria is more than you know, Africa is more than you could imagine.

If I ginger you go run next year, pray we get rain like this one. 😁😁

SHARE THE WIN

Training for a marathon is difficult. It takes hard work and consistency. The support you get from your loved ones, training partners and community can be make or break.

@warsaw_marathon medal is designed so you can share your WOW moment.

So i asked @mark0nei11 Patrycja @oliver.gazzo who they'll be sharing their medal with.

SHAKE OUT CARB UP

Day 2 and im prepping for @warsaw_marathon part of which involves a 5km shakeout run so I headed out and caught up with a call from @ekudduke for some words of encouragement then joined by @jwaggyruns for a coffee before the run.

After which I caught up with @nicolarighettii and @gugu_lethu.sibanda whilst waiting in line.
Both not Poland natives but have chosen Warsawa as their home.

Later I finally met up with @tomasztomal before we head for diner and supplies for the morning ahead.
Then a last minute call to finish with more carbs 😜
The violinist was a nice suprise 😁

BIG HALF AFTERS

With the @officialbighalf completed it was time to chat and catch up with other runners like @_celestegardner who I've bumped into on the start line 2 years running. Meet first timers like @daniromeu and @ajibad
Showing my appreciation to the supporters and lovelies like @austyn_farrell

But the party didn't stop... nope!!
@sweetslewis and @acrepalm organised an event called Link Me After...

Where i was able to catch up with @runwithandy1
@missdblue @eugenie_outofbreath @fiercelyracheal and so many of the @reprunners

As always @simonrphoto was on hand to capture the festivities and yes he ran and snapped the half marathon. The man is a machine.

LONDON SHOW OUT

This is my 4th time doing @officialbighalf
Its a highlight in my yearly event plan, why?
Because the vibes are always on 10
Feels like the city shows up to support every runner thanks to @londonmarathonevents

I wasn't ready for this particular half marathon as I haven't trained enough but I knew I'd regret not taking part. I witnessed so much joy and togetherness.

I already can't wait for next year.
