👉 SWIPE to experience polar night in the world’s northernmost town 🐻‍❄️

Experiencing the total darkness of Svalbard is something I’ve now done three times, and each time has been truly special!

Don’t forget, you can win yourself a free trip to witness the magic of polar night for yourself - just check out my previous post with @hurtigrutensvalbard for more info 🙌

For those who are new here, and those followers who don’t know me too well, here’s an introduction to who I am. After all, I am always behind the camera 😅

▫️I’m 30, and live in Manchester, UK 🇬🇧

▫️I’ve been a full-time content creator since May 2025. It’s been an amazing journey so far, and a huge learning curve, but so far it’s been incredibly rewarding 🙏

▫️Reels about the midnight sun & the polar night in Norway sent my account into the stratosphere haha - they currently sit at more than 300M combined total views 🤯

▫️I first started making content when I was 13 by recording and editing Call of Duty videos - most of which are still online in the depths of YouTube…

▫️Whilst it may look like I’m traveling all the time, I would say most of my job is sat in my office editing content / completing admin jobs. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, I get to travel once a month on average 😅

▫️I’ve ran two marathons, both of which were hell. I should’ve learnt the first time 🙃

▫️My last meal would be Neapolitan pizza - or a Sunday Dinner 🐐 (Non-UK followers may have lost me on that one)

▫️The most inspiring thing for me is when someone messages me to tell me they did a particular hike, or visited a country, because they saw one of my posts about it. That is about the biggest compliment I could ever get!

A huge thank you again for everyone who has chosen to follow me on this journey - you have helped me to live a life I never thought would be possible many years ago ❤️ by @g_cooper

The motive behind my photography

Of course, there is always more than just one reason to travel somewhere 😅 But the reason for visiting the destinations in this series always started with a single source of inspiration.

Speaking of inspiration, shout out to the goat @jordlg for this format idea. The boy does not miss 🔥

Grateful to be able to say I’ve experienced these 🫶

There’s so much beauty on our planet - in every corner of it - and there’s so much of it I still want to see. But sometimes I think it’s important to sit back and appreciate what you’ve seen and where you’ve been.

Some of these locations I visited years ago, some more recently, but nonetheless, I’m super grateful to have had all these experiences. What a place we get to call home! 🌎 by @g_cooper

Dark days in Svalbard 🔦

It’s been a while since I shared photos from the dark season in Svalbard, but as the colder autumn days approach, this feels like an appropriate time

In total I’ve spent about 3 weeks (on 3 separate occasions) on Svalbard during the polar night period - which lasts for 4 months. No daylight during that time every single year 😵‍💫

A crazy phenomenon, and one of my favourite to have ever experienced for sure. Northern lights at 1pm? Yes please 🫡 taken in Svalbard by @g_cooper

Central Asia is the GOAT

No shade to Bali - it’s on my list for sure - as is the rest of Indonesia. But if you say you’re going to Asia, it’s often the first place people assume you’re going

For me, the experiences and landscapes of Central Asia keep bringing me back time after time, and I know it won’t be long until I’m back again! The Stan countries have my heart 🫶 by @g_cooper

The most alien place I’ve ever visited

I’ve posted about the landscapes of Kazakhstan a LOT, but when they look like this, who can blame me 🤷‍♂️

Every few weeks or so I find myself looking back at my shots and marvelling at what we were able to witness on our trip. I also find myself editing photos that, for some reason, I haven’t gotten round to editing yet! It’s always a great feeling to create new, fresh content from an older trip 🤌

What an experience we had and what a place Kazakhstan is. I’m sure I’ll be back soon… 🛸 taken in Kazakhstan by @g_cooper

At the foot of a rising giant

The sheer scale of the giant cliffs in Kazakhstan are almost impossible to comprehend. And I STILL feel like that, even after I stood right beneath them

A truly humbling place that will make anyone feel small. Shot on the @djiglobal Mavic 4 Pro 2.5x lens taken in Kazakhstan by @g_cooper

Highlights from China

Me and @jordlg just returned from a 2.5 week journey across southern China. This trip was a bucket list one for me as I’ve been wanting to visit China for SOOOO long! Especially the locations you’re able to see in this carousel

Travelling on trains and public transport made for a bit of a different adventure than what we’re used to, as I almost always opt to rent a car and explore independently. That being said, it didn’t stop us from visiting where we wanted to go, and I can’t wait to get stuck in to all the content I have. Soon come 🙌

For those wondering, our itinerary was the following:
▫️Western Sichuan
▫️Chongqing
▫️Three Natural Bridges
▫️Zhangjiajie (Avatar Mountains)
▫️Fenghuang Ancient Town
▫️Longji Rice Terraces
▫️Yangshuo

Thanks to @panda_roaming who helped to support the Western Sichuan stint of our trip. A really beautiful area of China that not many international tourists get to visit. Lots more to come from this area!

@fabionodariphoto’s guides were absolutely essential in the planning stage before we actually got to China, as well as when we were on the ground there. The guy has covered almost every blade of grass in China and written many comprehensive guides about his experiences. Super useful!

Finally, shout out to @alessandro.marfella who I copied this format idea off. Very creative guy, so I take no credit whatsoever for this idea 🫡 taken in China by @g_cooper

Comment “GUIDE” and I’ll send a link to my Dolomites Location Guide, which includes all my favourite photo spots 🍁

Not many places can top autumn in the Dolomites. The epic landscapes surrounded by swarms of orange larch trees is near enough an unbeatable combination 🤝

I’ve not been here in autumn for nearly four years now! But I think I might have to change that soon… taken in Dolomites, Italy by @g_cooper

The art of cropping with @hasselblad X2D II 100C ✨

I mentioned on one of my previous posts how this camera has changed my way of shooting, and this post illustrates that pretty perfectly.

I now often shoot wider - not forcefully zooming in to a scene - with the knowledge that I’m able to crop in later. Here are some examples that sum up what is possible thanks to the 100MP power of the @hasselblad X2D II 100C 🤌

The best season is upon us 🍂

Every year I try and get away for at least one autumn trip. Whether that’s just here in the UK, or further afield. The light, colours and crisp mornings just make this the best season of all 🤌

Who agrees? And where’s on your bucket list for autumn?
