MUSIC HAS ITS OWN FONTS (PT.1)

i don’t think many designers realize how many fonts there are, and the more you go look for them, the more you’ll discover how many cool fonts exist.

like is there a reason to have so many different music fonts? probably not. but w/ everything, some humans felt inclined to express themselves differently, and now we have all these cool ways of visualizing music notation.

some of the references i cited in this video i put in this are.na, which you can also dig through to learn more: https://www.are.na/gabrielle-soong/music-fonts-2kje5ucf9c8

also ty to @lelandbuggie @sebastian.sack @y3kfae for your music expertise :’)

p.s. lmk if you like this new format!! i hope it encourages ppl to continue their curiosity off the algo by @gabbisoong__
