2025 What a year you’ve been.

As I sit here reflecting, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the moments that pushed me, the communities that had my back, and the work that lit me up from the inside out.

From stages across the globe to intimate circles of trust, from launching The Black in Events Network to co-creating spaces where women in our industry can finally breathe and be seen, each achievement feels like a thread in something much bigger than myself.

I travelled differently this year. Opened up differently. Showed up for my people differently. And watched as the universe reflected that energy back tenfold.

Two awards, countless connections, and more growth than I could have imagined. 2025 taught me that when you create space for others to thrive, you thrive too.

Now, as I look towards 2026... I can already feel the energy shifting. Something tells me we’re only just getting started.

What’s calling you into the new year? 💫 by @gabby_abrowne

✨Let me reintroduce myself…

From stages around the world to corporate boardrooms, my journey has been anything but conventional. As a former professional dancer turned events professional, I learned early that our bodies are our instruments—and like any instrument, they need care, tuning, and respect.

After over a decade in events and sales (yes, I’ve literally sprinted across event floors in heels! 👠), I discovered yoga and meditation as lifelines. What started as decompression became a transformative daily practice that changed how I move through the world.

Today, I bridge two worlds—teaching yoga and mindfulness to corporate teams while leading my EDI consultancy, Diversity Alliance. Both roles are rooted in the same principle, feeling supported, nurtured, and whole isn’t a privilege—it’s something every person deserves.

I believe self-care is an act of resistance in a world designed to keep us stressed and too tired to question the status quo. It’s radical to prioritise your wellbeing in an industry that glorifies burnout. It’s revolutionary to choose rest over hustle.

Our upcoming Women in Events Retreats for women and non binary folk, are about reclaiming our power and learning tools that will serve us day to day.

I feel like I’ve lived 100 lives… but I’m not done yet ✨

From performer to semi-pro poker player, mature student to event manager - I’ve worn so many hats and loved every single one.

But hovering in the background was the party girl. Don’t get me wrong, I was the life and soul 😬 The fun was real. But so was the time and money I was wasting, and that frustration was eating at me.

Looking back, I can see I was probably using alcohol to mask my social anxiety and quiet that voice telling me I wasn’t enough.

It’s actually quite funny… if you scroll back through my grid, you can tell exactly when I started to actually like who I was. Before then? Hardly any pictures of me. Go on, have a look, it’s like I was hiding from my own life.

Then life really tested me - the pandemic hit, I lost my job, and my beloved Gran passed away. But looking back I think it was exactly the wake up call I needed, after all as cheesy as it sounds we only get one shot at this beautiful, messy life- so maybe I needed to start taking that seriously…

So what happened to that girl who used to need liquid courage? She now travels solo, dances sober at raves festivals, and speaks confidently to hundreds of people. I’ve even won awards for my work.

I’m not the smartest person in the room, but I’m a dreamer AND a doer now. And I’m just getting started…

What’s one thing you’ve always wanted to do but talked yourself out of? Drop it below, let’s cheer each other on! 💪
