Finally sharing my 2027 Hobonichi haul… only approximately 84 years after everyone else 😂

I’m so excited about this lineup though. New year, new planners, same stationery obsession. 💕

Finally did it! I created a screenshot journal after seeing the idea on @caitlinmariedasilva’s page and then again on @alltheradreads. 📱✨

I highly recommend making one, especially if you’re like me and take screenshots constantly. It’s also such a nice way to make all those saved posts feel more visible. I’m always saving things on Instagram and then…never looking at them again. 😂

This is such a fun and easy way to keep track of the things that inspire you, make you laugh, or simply catch your attention.

Almost a year with my Hobonichi Techo! ✨

I took a brief pause during wedding planning (for obvious reasons 😅), but I keep coming back to it because it’s become one of my favorite creative spaces.

If you’ve been curious about Hobonichi but aren’t sure you want to invest in a brand-new planner, I highly recommend what I did: I picked up a discounted 2025 planner in August for about half the cost. It was the perfect low-risk way to see if the system actually worked for me before committing to a full-price planner.

And honestly? It did.

The 2026 planners are currently discounted too, so if you’ve been planner-curious, now might be a great time to try one out without the full-price commitment.

As for me, I’m already looking forward to grabbing my 2027 Hobonichi when they launch at the end of the summer. 📖

Are you a Hobonichi user, or are you planner-curious like I was?

There’s something really comforting about gathering the books I want to read this summer.

Romances, thrillers, nonfiction, poetry, books about writing, books about being human. Even if I don’t get through all of them, I still love seeing what I’m drawn to right now. It feels like a little snapshot of who I am, or maybe who I’m trying to become again.

Coming back to this account with more focus on creative journaling, reading, and slow creativity has honestly helped me find myself again. Somewhere along the way, I think I got scared of writing. Scared of being vulnerable, scared of needing an audience, scared of whether what I had to say was worth taking up space for. And I miss the version of me that used to write just because she needed to.

So some of these books are also tied to that…Poetry. Storytelling. Creativity. Courage. Letting myself hold space for writing again, whether that’s my newsletter, little stories, journal entries, or things no one else ever reads.

Anyway, here’s my hopeful summer reading stack ☀️

Would love to know if you’ve read any of these already, or if any completely wrecked you emotionally in the best way lol. by @gabbycreatestoo

My café journal routine is usually reserved for weekends, so getting to sneak away for a solo afternoon felt extra special. I realized my usual spot stays open until 7pm (a true delight), and for once I didn’t have to battle for a table.

I also found some old books to collage into my journal again (inspired by @eggtabel ) and I’ve been really loving adding watercolor lately. This page started as a random paint blob until I spotted a little lounging dog in it… so naturally, I had to lean in.

Also very into my current sticker rotation lately (last photo for proof). I can’t believe I’m coming up on almost a year of creative journaling. It’s become such a comforting little space to play, experiment, and creatively thrive. #junkjournaling #creativejournaling #hobonichitecho #junkjournaljunkies #journalingjourney by @gabbycreatestoo

school is about to end, which means summer is about to begin, and everyone keeps asking me what my plans are, as if vacations have already been booked and each day neatly mapped out.

but honestly, I enter every summer without fully knowing what’s going to happen until it happens.

what I do know is that I’ve been reflecting a lot on what it means to be a writer.

journaling has become such a grounding part of my routine. it’s brought me peace. but when it comes to creating stories, essays, or poetry; the things I deeply want to write and eventually share with all of you, I get stuck.

I freeze.

I convince myself I’m not good enough. all the ideas that have been quietly percolating in my brain suddenly feel shut off by fear.

and it’s funny, because that same fear keeps surfacing as I think about what it means to #TTC, too.

so maybe this summer isn’t about having a perfectly planned itinerary. maybe it’s about making space. listening closely. creating gently. becoming.

I’m hoping these books guide me through whatever this season is meant to hold.

these are my summer plans. by @gabbycreatestoo
