Playing with Fred and @jamesbrown alumni. 😀 I love every chance I get to do “taste of Wes” but this was the first time I ever did guitar antics on stage (a little further in the clip)

Thanks Jimmie Lee Moore for instigating, and Fred and the whole crew for having me aboard once again. An honor!

Posted @withregram • @fredthomasofthejbs Thanks @grahamstrangmusic for the concert footage. You can see more on his YouTube channel (also linked in my bio).

Encore from the James Brown Band in Whistler Summer Series, British Columbia.

Sex Machine!

We had a great time playing for you all! You all knew for a fact.

“In order to get Down you have to Get Up!”

Fred Thomas bass, vocals

Condolences to the family and loved ones of our great friend with the beautiful voice, Wilbert Chick Rhodes, aka The Silver Fox.

I worked with Chick a lot about a decade ago with performances and recordings. A great spirit. A lovable man. Heaven just got another gorgeous voice for the Choir.

I have some videos and demo recordings I’ll see if I have around to further celebrate The Silver Fox.

During Covid we decided to put out a demo we had recorded a few years before, “In The Years Since You Were 17”

I believe he moved to South Carolina shortly after things opened? Or before? I can’t remember. And wasn’t in touch like I should have been. I do wish I could have done more to share his voice with a bigger audience.

I can hear Chick’s voice say about himself in his lovably matter of fact manner, “I do have a pretty voice.” And he did! taken in Brooklyn, New York by @gabrielglasscaplan
