I have loved you every day for 14 years, 7 months, and 25 days.

I loved you when you were tiny, & I was young & broke & lost. I loved you when you were so timid that a breath too big from me would send you running off the bed and under it. One day, you decided that you loved me too.

You loved me through my college madness, through heartbreak, loss, grief, anxiousness, and the instability of early adulthood. You became courageous, funny, & even demanding- and taught me that even small beings are capable of big change.

And now that I’m beginning a more stable chapter of my life, you’ve decided that your work here is done.

Perhaps you thought I was safe now, and strong enough to accept you needing to go, but I still pleaded with you and God for more time. I bought 3 extra days with you before you passed at home surrounded by love, warmth, prayers, and kisses, and I have no regrets.

Thank you for not hiding from me in the end. I must remember that a few weeks ago, after years of not wanting to go outside for fear that Po and Pippin would bother your old soul…I saw you in the garden again. A few short weeks ago…you were rolling around the garden and watching the birds again. I was cuddling you outside, and I saw you ✨leaping✨.

I want to spend my days making beautiful things. 💕
I spent the weekend making a bird feeder out of a teacup and saucer, and while no birds have landed on my feeder yet, I’ve seen them eyeing it from afar. I hope they come to accept my little feeder soon!

Our blueberry bush is beginning to blossom, and the flowers in my garden are loving the unusually heavy rain we’ve experienced here in Pasadena. ❤️

I’ve been enjoying making a weekly batch of muffins that serve as a cozy little addition to my breakfast and coffee. So far we’ve enjoyed cinnamon spiced muffins, banana chocolate chip, honey muffins, and oatmeal chocolate chip. Andy will tell you that his least favorite was that healthy little oatmeal muffin, and that he’s excited for a batch of blueberry or lemon poppyseed 😂. by @gabypossible

❄️🎄 Po’s Christmas wish is to have a sunny morning and lots of peanut butter.

When she’s not practicing piano or strolling through the town, Mom’s favorite thing to do on vacation is relax in my bed and watch “Anne with an E” with our dog Po. ❤️ by @gabypossible

Back online after a busy month to finally ease into my winter break. ❄️ Mama came to visit me all the way from Miami! We spent our afternoons going to the Norton Simon, getting tea at Madeline Garden, seeing the LA Zoo lights, and even we got to see “The Nutcracker Ballet” thanks to the lovely @mom2mrnick .

Best friends since Pippin was a kitten. ❤️ Po is the best mama bear to our little rascal cat! The first photo is from last night, while second and third photos are of Pippin at just a few months old. by @gabypossible

We spent 24 hours in Julian, California for Halloween! 🎃 After thinking we weren’t going to be able to take an autumn trip this year, we were both so glad to find that Julian was just a 2 hour road-trip away.

We spent the night at the Gold Rush Bed and Breakfast where we enjoyed card games in costume as old Halloween music played through their parlor speakers (I asked Andy- “is this music AI???? It’s very on-the-nose lol…nope! All real!)

Their complimentary breakfast included homemade granola cereal, apple juice, and homemade waffles with butter, syrup, and fruit! (Please remind me that I cannot start a bed and breakfast. I cannot start a bed and breakfast. Everyone who goes to a B&B dreams of starting their own, right? 😂 ignore the urge and enjoy the waffles!!)

During the day we strolled through the little town and enjoyed milkshakes at Miner’s Diner, barbecue brisket at the Julian Beer Company, and a slice of pie at one of their MANY pie shops. We also walked through a real gold mine in the dark!

I also found my birthday dress. 🙂

Now we’re home and I can happily say that we had a wonderful Halloween! Thank you Julian ❤️🎃 taken in Julian, California by @gabypossible
