Super excited to announce that my album with @trinityjane and @chima_the_s with the wonderful band @katznels @wilsonmanjones @blipthefifth is out now! This album came about following the noise ordinance tour last fall and all the wonderful experiences we had sharing our music with ski communities on the west coast. It’s been a tremendous honor to work with both chima and trinity and to be trusted to interpret their music and I’ve been excited to share this with the world for a while now. Huge shoutout to @xanderfire and @galacticbrown for everything they’ve done to make this happen. Shoutout to @big_larry_4ever for the beautiful album cover and @probablevoltages for a bunch of help getting this recorded. There’s a band camp and Spotify link in my bio, and it is also on all streaming platforms. More announcements to come soon! by @galacticbrown

We reached Phantom Ranch on day 6, and swapped a few members of our sandy crew for fresh ones. A remote post office, nestled beneath cottonwoods presented an opportunity to send regards to the world waiting above the rim. Among the letters I sent was one addressed to me, or rather, the version of me that lives back home. It was entitled, “things to remember” and read:

1. Keep drinking lots of water.
2. Give yourself time to settle into new things.
3. When you finish your work, help others with theirs.
4. Take your time, there’s lots to explore.
5. Sing, and if you forget the words, don’t be afraid to make them up.

Along with the words, the photos also remind me of the feeling I had, floating for 16 days through the Grand Canyon. Perhaps words and pictures aren’t divisible, as people often suggest. Instead they provided two uniquely different perspectives. Both worth remembering. by @galacticbrown

For 10 days and 10 nights. We bashed through alder and devils club looking for skiable terrain and found some. I knew we would. But what I remember most are the moments between. Pulling in dinner on the line, watching the mountains slide by, and an occasional dip in warm pools.

The memory fades with the turning sun, but the 3 rolls I shot remind of the way the sky glinted across the waves, the purring generators sleepy hum, and all the places we stopped along the way.

@galacticbrown has shown that he can craft a ski movie like no other. His latest film, “LINES,” ups the ante. A melting pot of skiing, philosophy and rap, the project is as beautiful and informative as any Duncan’s yet created.

Among the madness there’s been joy and many milestones.

Mallory Duncan is a force. We're proud he's on our team.

If you saw Mallory in his and @xanderfire film tour, Noise Ordinance, you know that he brings a unique and creative flow to his skiing, one that parallels the art he creates outside the sport as well. It's a glimpse into what makes the industry, at it's best, so special: space for creative freedom and expression, an opportunity to immerse a community in culture, and re-write narratives surrounding what a ski film - and the industry - can look like. Mallory is an example of an individual who's contributions to the sport continue to benefit it for all. We followed along for the Hood River, Oregon viewing of Noise Ordinance and can attest to the experience being a genius blend of music and motion art. A huge round of applause to all involved in this project.

Noise Ordinance! is a proposition that, perhaps, if music is the common thread of communication across the many disciplines and divisions of life, than as long as our work is written in that same sonic scripture, our messaging will always be collective.
