🥇 Rayan (orange belt) won gold at the IBJJF European Championship No-Gi in Lisbon on Sunday, and that makes it his 3rd European gold. He’s 12 and he’s already a three time European champion, training right here in Bandon.

🥈 Siya (yellow belt) also competed and came home with a silver medal.

Saw @irishtimesnews headline “The Irish are the Brazilians of Europe” and thought fair enough... but what about the reverse?

18 years in Bandon, a ginger beard, and an extreme vulnerability to sunshine later, I think the transition is complete. 😂

Born and raised in Brazil, but very much at home in West Cork. 🇮🇪☘️🇧🇷

Throwback to 2023, countering a takedown with a submission. I’m always the smallest guy in the open weight class but won that match and the division!

My 9 year old coaching me at the AJP Grand Slam in Rio 🇧🇷

Didn’t win this match, finished in 3rd place, but my coach @siyabjj was on fire 🔥😄

This is where I started training capoeira. Feeling blessed to be back here and play capoeira with my kids. 🇧🇷

Was losing this match by 1 advantage, what do you think was the final score?
