Got to work with my brothers on a series of photos centred around what home meant to them. 🤝🏾
How do you define home? For CH£Vz and LJ or “Lyrikal Jenius” home doesn’t sit between brick and mortar, home is where you feel comfortable, it’s familiarity, when “you feel like you can be yourself around certain people.
Though separate acts, cousins CH£VZ and LJ come together as a duo that can be likened to Talib Kweli and Yasiin Bey as “Black Star.” Though stylistically dissimilar, they have the creative potential to emulate their dynamic and success. Born and raised in Wolverhampton, yet their home exists as a feeling of belonging. This can be inferred from their partnership, they elevate one another through music with a clear focus on community regardless of size. Thus, this campaign draws upon their idea of familiarity as home, intending to platform them while still maintaining their individual integrity and celebrating both differences and similarities. Likening themselves to “Mario and Luigi” and “2018 Gunna and Lil Baby” respectively, the duo acknowledges their strength as a pair, they “power up and take over.” Connected by sentiment, they hold their physical home close, this being a source of inspiration for style and the film chosen for the campaign. Neither would change their home and thus an authentic depiction was the aim, displaying home as it is.
