💥 It’s official: the gallery is delighted to confirm its return to Paris Photo in November this year with a solo show by American photographer Merry Alpern, featuring her cult series “Dirty Windows” (1993–1994), presented for the first time ever at the fair.

Photographed from a neighbouring Manhattan apartment, “Dirty Windows” focuses on a single window, where blinds, curtains and fragmented bodies make the act of looking part of the image itself. Between intimacy and observation, Merry Alpern shifts the conventions of street photography towards the private sphere.

The November presentation of vintage silver gelatin prints made, signed and numbered by Merry Alpern, will be complemented by a selection of unseen works, to be previewed exclusively at Paris Photo 2026 🚀

Founded in Paris in 2018 by Miranda Salt, Galerie Miranda represents photographers recognised in their home countries but under-recognised in Europe, with a particular focus on women artists. Merry Alpern is a founding artist represented proudly and exclusively by the Galerie since 2018.

Nous sommes très heureux de célébrer la sortie de Mémoire vive, le premier livre de Thomas Desoutter, publié par 37.2

Le premier livre de @thomas_desoutter raconte un retour en Corse avec Nabil, son mari, sur les traces d’une enfance passée en familles d’accueil.

Des souvenirs qui se contredisent. Des pierres étrangement vivantes. Et l’écriture comme une façon de réparer.

Après un avant-goût cet été aux @rencontresarles , on célèbre son lancement le jeudi 8 octobre @galeriemiranda , de 18h à 21h.

Sur une note plus personnelle, je suis particulièrement heureux d’éditer cet ouvrage.

Notre maison d’édition a toujours eu pour ambition de faire rayonner des projets qui nous touchent : ceux de nos artistes bien sûr, mais aussi ceux nés de rencontres qui nous parlent, comme ce fut le cas avec @mathiaschaillot (Les Garçons du Levant, 2024) ou @maxim.mgn (Beyrouth, 2021), et ceux de nos amis.

Thomas & Nabil sont de ceux-là, et je suis très heureux de pouvoir leur offrir cette plateforme aujourd’hui.

J’ai toujours été admiratif du talent de Thomas, et touché par le sourire, la générosité et la résilience de Nabil. Par leur histoire aussi, et par la manière dont ils ont choisi de raconter celle-ci ensemble.

Ils sont aussi beaux à l’unité qu’à deux.

Ravi de faire cette signature chez Miranda ❤️, l’un de nos plus fidèles soutiens depuis le début.

Et un grand merci à @weweparis @gille.marine @jeanfrancois_gautier @florimont_renault pour cette nouvelle aventure ensemble .

About the book ‘SCUMB Manifesto’ by Justine Kurland, and her installation of collages at the gallery’ ‘99 Nude collages on the wall’:

« Inspired by Valerie Solanas’ iconoclastic feminist tract SCUM (Society for Cutting Up Men) Manifesto, SCUMB Manifesto introduces us to photographer Justine Kurland’s own uncompromising initiative: the Society for Cutting Up Men’s Books.

This volume presents a collection of collages Kurland created by cutting up and reconfiguring photobooks by male artists, as she went through the process of purging her own library of roughly 150 books by straight white men that have monopolized the photographic canon.

The nature of collage — heterogeneous, pulled apart, shape shifting, disrupted, cyborg, fantasy — has long made it a feminist strategy in life and in art. In Kurland’s ritual each work is a reclamation of history; a dismemberment of the patriarchy; a gender inversion of the usual terms of possession; and a modest attempt at offsetting a life of income disparity. While markedly different in style, the defiant female visions pictured in these compositions are a continuation of those depicted in Kurland’s earlier photographic projects Girl Pictures (1997–2002) and Mama Babies (2004–07). Each work in SCUMB sounds an electrifying call for freedom — the freedom to create, to destroy, to imagine, and to reshape our visual and social world. »
