What was supposed to be just our hobby turned out to be our new venture. Now we are ready to launch our very first board game, "Potions of Azerland" . Gray Baker, the designer of the game, spent a couple of years working on and improving it, and together with my husband, Tyler,they are ready to share it with everyone. It has stunning art by Andrew Bosley and graphic design by Robby. They all put in a lot of thought to make sure it was visually appealing and enjoyable.

In this game, you will have five actions per round. You can forage and buy ingredients, study for more knowledge, brew potions, and finally fulfill the visitor's request. You can also drink your own potion to gain abilities. It's a simultaneous action selection mechanism, which makes it fun, interactive, and strategic as well.

Todays game was a preorder game from the folks at @gapclosergames Illiterati. We had a booth close by at dice tower west and all we saw was how much fun people were having playing these games so I had to grab it! Illiterati is clever and tons of fun. It was super cool to work together in our group to solve these work puzzles and conditions. Definitely Recommend especially if you love words, words, words.

Our next recently received kickstarter is the beautiful Trailblazer: The John Muir Trail by @mariposagames since it’s the 4th what’s better than going for a hike? Well on a board game at least 😅. Today we played JMT and wow is it a looker. Beautiful thematic art oozes everywhere in this game. The the game play was simple and straightforward with still lots of choices to make. Overall just a great game and theme and experience super excited we got this one!

We have recently received lots of kickstarters and preorder games from some of our friends/ fellow indie designers and we want to take time to share their great work. First up is Mine Your Business by @envyborngames This is a great production. So simple but fun from the first turn. I remember first seeing this game last year at the WSBG and I had to get it if nothing other than their absolute passion for the game. It’s been very cool to watch the process from a far and a huge congratulations to the success of Mine you Business!

The main reason I’m in this hobby is my love for Catan and many years playing. It brought me into different friend groups that literally changed the course of my life. I was super sad to hear of the passing of Klaus Teuber. I’m grateful for his gift to us 💛❤️🧡

Got to hang with the @aegminions crew tonight! Played lots of games and forgot to take lots of pictures! Deep dive is super cute and fun little penguins 🐧, we also played space base, my first time and had a blast. Then hopped over to Let’s go to Japan. This was a very clean fun game. Many layers to tickle the brain. Definitely an insta back when it hits kickstarter soon. Somewhere in there we played let’s call it Shake and write 😅 shake that city. I just got edged out from winning that by the John’s. Last we played a wild double board version of ready set bet. My first time playing that as well and got taught by John D. Clair himself, wild! Over all just an absolute blast, just some really amazing people to hang with. Huge thanks to @banzainator and @panda8ngel_loves_games for the invite and facilitating all of the fun!

Last Saturday @grays_games and I headed out to Anaheim to play in The Road to GenCon tournament put on by @theopgames we were playing Disney Sorcerer’s Arena Epic Alliances. I grabbed this game middle of last year and have had a blast playing it. When we say that The OP was putting on an event to win a trip to GenCon we had to jump in. It was a smaller event but a lot of fun. It was great to hang with the other player and meet the OP team. We had a catch-up and lunch with @banzainator beforehand as well which was fun! I ended up walking away with the win and a super cool Trophy and a bunch of promo items. Right now I’m in the lead for the trip to GenCon with a bunch of tournaments to go. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼🤞🏼 Huge thanks again to The OP for doing all this!

Last Black Friday sale we snagged Terra Nova with a few other games. Terra Nova is a very paired down version of Terra Mystica. Terra Mystica and Gaia Project being very similar games can be daunting at times to get to the table, Terra Nova gives a lot of the same feel in an extremely streamlined game.

We had some good thoughts on this that if you love Terra Mystica or Gaia Project this is a great introduction to those games. A whole game of Terra Nova can be played in under an hour and it teaches most of the key mechanisms from the bigger games. I’m not sure how many more times we will play this before moving to just Terra Mystica. It’s worth a play though!
