POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

As I’ve gotten older one of the most important things to me is taking the time to enjoy my hobbies and finding friends within them. Our gaming group came together in the most random way - - none of us knew each other but here we are, years later, still playing 😆 we got so damn lucky and that’s not ever lost on me - and it’s crazy to see how our lives have intertwined over the years with our kiddos and SO’s becoming friends, Gray and Tyler turning the hobby into a successful business over at @warped_reality_games , Bryce’s uncanny ability to track down THE funnest games to play - I know it’s often tough finding a group you connect with and that can consistently meet up. I tend to get caught up in the stress of work and the guilt of balancing coworker/wife/mother/friend/business owner life and without a doubt it leaks into my ability to relax and take the time to meet up and game but I am fortunate enough to have friends that patiently welcome me back to the table. Every. Single. Time.

Anyway….. My hope for you is that you’re able to enjoy some solid gaming time with good people this weekend ✨

And eventually I’ll share my thoughts about our experience playing Arcs…… for now all I’m gonna say is it was a crazy, intense absolute shitshow and may possibly be banned from our table for all eternity. Like if it was the last game on the planet…. We wouldn’t play it. We’d just have Gray design something with rocks and sticks and shit and if you know @grays_games you know he’d figure something out and it would be stupid good 😂

Todays game was a preorder game from the folks at @gapclosergames Illiterati. We had a booth close by at dice tower west and all we saw was how much fun people were having playing these games so I had to grab it! Illiterati is clever and tons of fun. It was super cool to work together in our group to solve these work puzzles and conditions. Definitely Recommend especially if you love words, words, words.

Our next recently received kickstarter is the beautiful Trailblazer: The John Muir Trail by @mariposagames since it’s the 4th what’s better than going for a hike? Well on a board game at least 😅. Today we played JMT and wow is it a looker. Beautiful thematic art oozes everywhere in this game. The the game play was simple and straightforward with still lots of choices to make. Overall just a great game and theme and experience super excited we got this one!

We have recently received lots of kickstarters and preorder games from some of our friends/ fellow indie designers and we want to take time to share their great work. First up is Mine Your Business by @envyborngames This is a great production. So simple but fun from the first turn. I remember first seeing this game last year at the WSBG and I had to get it if nothing other than their absolute passion for the game. It’s been very cool to watch the process from a far and a huge congratulations to the success of Mine you Business!

The main reason I’m in this hobby is my love for Catan and many years playing. It brought me into different friend groups that literally changed the course of my life. I was super sad to hear of the passing of Klaus Teuber. I’m grateful for his gift to us 💛❤️🧡

Happy birthday to Tyler 🎉

We had another wonderful day of gaming.

We continued our campaign of Roll Player Adventures Scenario 3. It continues to impress us. We added the expansion in and am having a fun time exploring the personal stories it adds. So far we are kinda leaning on the evil side and it's been funny seeing that play out through helping the bad guys out in this adventure game 😈.

The next game we played was Acropolis. It felt similar to Cascadia with tile laying. I ended up winning my first time playing. Very fun and can be a brain burner for sure with all the 3d elements it adds.

Lastly, I played my first game of ArkNova. This game is fun and has a ton of variety to it. I do find it funny how some things don't make a ton of sense thematically, like I had a giant polar bear exhibit ai built but wasn't allowed to put a bear in it 🤣. Got second place on this one 🎉

Love having a group to play all these great games with. Tyler is a great guy and glad he invited me to hang for his birthday.

Tonight I brought Roll Player Adventures to the group.

@professormeg and @boardgameco put this game on my radar with their playthroughs, so when someone offered to trade me for it, I took them up.

The first scenario went smoothly. With four players I wasn't sure how quickly we could play, but it went by breezily. Immediately after finishing scenario one, my friends looked at the time and demanded, "ANOTHER!"

So we played scenario two.

SPOILERS -------------------

Scenario two impressed me. We thought we had our agenda in line for creating anarchy and being the dirtiest king's guard in the land.

We were supposed to find a lost girl, which we did, but not before murdering her two best troll friends.

In our defense, we witnessed these trolls savagely ripping pigs into pieces. We had helped free a pig from a poisonous scorpion earlier and ran into some halflings that enjoyed the pigs like family. So of course we were going to kill these trolls no questions asked once we followed them back to their cave 🐖 🐷.

After we saved the girl, the village had the nerve to reward us with a giant feast of ham, bacon and pork.

Such a great time. @game_knightsaz are down for us to binge this game and I'm all for it

When @thunderworksgames brings back the next Kickstarter campaign give this one a look. You really will have an adventure with your friends.

Tonight we played Dwellings of Eldervale, a masterpiece of a game!

This game has so many fun parts to it 😊.

First, you start by picking an asymetric faction. So I chose the dwarfs and I got lots of gold and my warriors were stronger if I had a pick axe in my supply. SO THEMATIC...I LOVE IT!

Second, there are these giant monsters that ROAR at you if you move them. Usually you fight them for some rewards, but I ended up dominating the Stone Golem, and using him to fight and get me some dwellings made, before he was eventually killed by Tyler's stupid dragon. I lost even after rolling two 6's and a 5 but it was fun.

Third, speaking of battles, they are wonderful. You get to fight with your meeples, you roll dice, whoever rolled more high numbers wins. BOOM 💥. Some have really cool powers, like Bryant's dragon would eat neighboring workers, it was crazy 🤣.

Fourth, you get more stuff from recalling your workers than you did from placing them initially so that's fun.

There's so much you can do in this game. You place a meeples and get resources, you fight for territory, you slay wind monsters, you turn your worker boys into little house people, you buy cards for your tableau to get more resources and powers, you get awesome quests, spells, and end game goals. The fun is endless.

And I guess it helps when you win a game against Gray who also happens to be a two time semi finalist in the World Series of Boardgames! 🤣💥😊

I'm sure Bailie would have crushed us if she was there!

This is a game every board game player needs to play. What do you all think of Dwellings of Eldervale?

Had so much fun this week at game night! I brought my new Marvel Dice Throne and we ended up playing twice because all the characters are so damn fun 🔥🔥🔥

I tried out Black Panther which I really liked and probably would have liked even more if I’d noticed that I had a passive ability 🤦🏼‍♀️ wtf I wasn’t paying attention 😂

Next I tried out Loki who I was definitely all about - - an all time fav character!

We all unanimously agreed that this new set has some incredible characters @dicethrone nailed it once again!
