Jerry Jones… I owe you an apology.

When the Cowboys traded Micah Parsons to the Packers, I was VERY critical. I thought Dallas was making a massive mistake by moving one of the best defensive players in football.

And Micah didn’t suddenly prove me right by struggling either. He was dominant in Green Bay.

But almost a year later, I have to admit I underestimated what Dallas could turn that trade into.

Kenny Clark. Multiple first-round assets. More draft capital. More financial flexibility. And eventually the ability to make aggressive moves like bringing in Quinnen Williams.

Does that mean the Cowboys officially “won” the trade? Not yet.

But I was wrong to think Jerry Jones was simply giving away a generational player without a bigger plan.

So Jerry… I gave you plenty of criticism when it happened.

Now I’ve gotta give you your props.

What do you think?

Did Jerry Jones make the right call trading Micah Parsons? 👇

Caitlin Clark is the biggest growth engine the WNBA has ever seen or experienced! So why is it odd how she’s being treated!!?

Could it be a Caitlin Clark issue? Or is this more of the WNBA not knowing how to handle the stardom impact she brought with her?

Is she being treated unfairly!? Or is there more to the story? And where are her TEAMMATES at when defending these actions?!

Seems to me the WNBA was so used to operating at a loss year after year after year, that they didn’t actually know what to do when they sniffed some sort of success and actually had eyeballs on the league 🤷‍♂️

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the matter.

4:45 ⏰

That’s when my alarm goes off…. And my body was dead today! Brain has been going a million miles an hour for the last few days…

But I no longer argue with myself. I don’t negotiate. I’ve set goals and put systems in place, so I know what needs to be done.

Got up and had a solid workout today!

Got locked in with @aesthreadics on the belt and had a good chat with my friends over at @ironbodyfitness_meridian! Great way to start a Friday!

What happens when the position you’ve played your entire life suddenly changes in college?

Josie Davis spent her high school basketball career as a point guard, running the offense, facilitating and setting up her teammates.

Then she arrived at Fort Lewis College and her coach saw something different.

A scoring threat.

That meant transitioning from point guard to shooting guard, learning how to play off the ball, attack differently and expand a part of her game that hadn’t always been her primary role.

And at first?

She admits she wanted to go right back to point guard.

But eventually she started seeing what her coach saw.

Now Josie feels confident not only in the defense that has always been a huge part of her game, but in her ability to shoot, attack and score the basketball.

Sometimes getting to the next level means being willing to become a different version of the player you thought you were.

Full conversation with Josie Davis on The Gametime Guru is available on all platforms!! 🎙️

Thank you @josie.davis1 for joining me 🤝

There’s a million gyms here in the treasure valley. Each serves its purpose to their ideal client.

The gym I go to is @ironbodyfitness_meridian and the reason I love it here is because it has everything I need, the treadmills can hold my weight, and I really appreciate and respect the owner!

Right off Linder Road between Franklin and Pine!!

These local and independent gyms are hard to run because they’re competing with the commercial ones. But that’s also why I love going to them because they are willing to serve the community without having the branding and backing of corporate funding everyday!

Anywho, this year I’ve dropped 55 lbs. I’ve been coming here to really get myself in check. I enjoy this gym and the people who come here.

I’m not gonna keep that a secret. If you are like me, and you want a new place to checkout, come check it out! Joe is the owner and he’ll be happy to talk with you too and answer questions!

Glad I found this place!

Every pull day begins with the deadlifts, then I have a full hour long workout after that for the rest of back and biceps! I typically only film the compound lifts I’m doing because those are the ones I’m working up with to get to the 1,000 lbs club!

Before my lifts begin though, it’s always a warmup of:

- 20 Minute Run
- Hip and Legs Warmup
- Shoulder Mobility
- Abs/Core

Then we begin the lift.

I HAVE to warmup these days. My joints and muscles need it before I can begin lifting so it’s become part of the routine!

Anywho, today’s lift was awesome! Feeling like my body is finally getting over the hump of being sick!

7 years ago yesterday, Taylor and I took a trip to Lincoln, Nebraska to watch Ohio State take on the Huskers.

About a month before the game, I decided I wanted to see Ohio State on the road again. I had gone to Oklahoma game in Columbus the year before, saw Nebraska on the schedule, and thought, “I HAVE to experience that stadium.”

It ended up being one of my favorite college football trips.

The biggest reason?

Nebraska fans.

We were walking around Lincoln in Ohio State gear and people were saying hi, welcoming us to the city, talking football with us, and genuinely making us feel like they were glad we were there.

College GameDay also happened to be in town, which made the whole day even better. We checked out the tailgating, the Heisman House, met Lil’ Red, ran into Big Nut, and just soaked in the atmosphere.

Then we walked into Memorial Stadium.

Old. Humid. A little confusing to navigate.

But when we finally came out of the tunnel and saw the field with the sun going down before a night game, it was awesome.

Ohio State ended up winning 48-7, and Chase Young absolutely wrecked Nebraska’s offensive line.

But what I still remember most was Nebraska’s crowd.

Even with the game completely out of hand, tens of thousands of people were still there, still engaged, still doing their traditions.

That’s loyalty.

Looking back at this trip 7 years later is kind of wild.

The Gametime Guru wasn’t even two years old yet. We only had one kid. Life looked a lot different.

Taylor was there with me, like she has been for so many of these trips.

My travel buddy.

And honestly, experiences like this are a big reason I love sports the way I do.

The stadiums. The traditions. The fans. The stories.

Go take the trip.

The games eventually become scores in a record book.

The experiences are what you remember.

What college football stadium is at the top of your bucket list?

Coaching Basketball changed the way I view a lot of things in life honestly!

Like I am probably a MUCH more boring sports fan than I was prior to that. I analyze EVERYTHING now as a fan! It often takes me until after the game to really talk about things and then I begin to talk and overthink it all.

I start to analyze things in marketing now too because of that. It allows me to see deeper than surface level!

It’s funny how that works. We have different experiences and sometimes those experiences can really shape us in a variety of areas of our lives! taken in Nampa, Idaho by @gametimeguru

What is a QB actually looking for at the LOS to make their reads?!

A good QB will understand coverages and tendencies of the defenses. This is where studying film and just understanding the game comes in.

For @lhhs_football QB - @dj.m1tchell - it’s become one of the must dos EVERY SINGLE SNAP. Now he also has to be able to adapt if things change post-snap, but this is a big advantage for a QB if they already have an understanding of what the defense is showing them!
