Happy #wildcatwednesday🐾 … As the 2026 graduation season ramps up we would like to celebrate one more 2025 grad in Gardenia Martinez-Alonso who made waves for our program from 2015-17 and was a member of our New Mexico Travel squad aka the #NewMexiQueens!

Gardenia, a 2021 Bethel grad who also wrestled for @jbhs_wrestling, went onto @sonomastateuniversity where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in English with a minor in criminal justice studies!

She is currently working as an advocate for immigrant communities in Alameda County with ambitions to go to law school to become an attorney in the future.

@garden.ma20 states school can’t keep her away too long as her drive is inspired by her teachers, coaches and programs like ours which instilled in her to be a good person.

There is no irony in that as she has been paying it forward by coaching wrestling for @napasalyouth where she has received rave reviews from #NapaSalWrestling co-founder Jesse Ward.

Absolutely proud of you Gardenia❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Add a Bachelors in English with a Concentration in Lit and a Minor in Criminal Justice Studies to my résumé. If you know me personally you know this is an accomplishment I am very proud of. This did not come easy and it wasn’t just because of school. Life picks up and you still have deadlines. People pass away, people disrupt your life and you still have to show up the next day and do a presentation. This is not the end please stay tuned for the next part of my journey. To those friends who are graduating next to me in different schools, congrats to us I love you all and I’m so proud. And lastly to those who have already congratulated me thank you so much it means a ton. Thank you to everyone who supported me, encouraged me, and picked me up when I was most stressed in school. #2025graduate🎓 by @garden.ma20
