“Gareth’s a great coach, he puts loads of effort into organising exactly the work that I need to do, we have a really good laugh which is absolutely crucial”

Sometimes it’s as important to have fun with your training as it is to work hard, especially when trying to create long term habits.

Holly and I have great fun every week she smashed her goals of skiing and completing a solo fitness event and is still continuing to get stronger, fitter and loving it.

Ready for a coach in your corner, who will get you to where you want to go without shouting, making it feel boring or ridiculously painful every single step of the way?

“Gareth puts the personal in personal training.” - Calum, 12 years training with me

12 years. 200kg squat. 200kg deadlift. 💪

Numbers like that don’t happen by accident, they happen with consistency, trust, and a coach who actually knows you.

1 week on from turning 40 and I still can’t believe all the fun things I’ve done in just 1 week!

@sarahwestonpt did a fantastic job organising lots of fun activities and keeping me well fed! 😂

I feel very grateful and very happy 😊

Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday, joined me for celebrations (wish I had got more photos of everyone) and gave me some amazing gifts.

Roll on 50 now I guess 😂 by @garethhambleton

“’He always trains/ treats me like a whole person rather than just a number on a dumbbell. Whatever I’ve gone through in my life and whatever I’ve wanted to achieve, he’s been super supportive.”— Claire, 15 years training with me.

This year, at 50, she got her first ever chin-up. 💪

15 years isn’t just about the workouts.

It’s showing up for someone through everything life throws at them.

We’re officially into the second half of the year!

A quick question...

What goal(s) did you set yourself back in January?

Did you achieve it?

Are you on track?

Or did life simply get in the way?

If it’s the last one, don’t beat yourself up.

Life happens.

The good news is you don’t need to wait until next January to make a fresh start.

You still have 6 months to make some real progress.

One of my favourite books on goal setting is Goals! by Brian Tracy. @thebriantracy

One of the biggest lessons I took from it is that writing your goals down and breaking them into small, actionable steps makes them much more achievable.

Whether your goal is to:
Lose weight
Run your first 5K
Complete your first HYROX
Get stronger
Or simply have more energy for your family...

Today is a great day to reset & start moving forward again.

For me, my goals for the rest of the year are to continue building my coaching business, improve as a hybrid athlete & keep becoming a calmer, happier dad for my girls.

Now I’d love to hear from you...

👇 What’s one goal you’re working towards for the rest of the year?

And if you’re feeling stuck or not sure where to start, send me a message.

I’d be happy to help if I can. 😊

Most people think they need more motivation.

Sometimes they simply need more recovery.

Poor sleep, high stress & trying to do too much can leave us feeling exhausted before we even start thinking about exercise.

Before looking for another supplement or fancy new training routine, ask yourself:

When was the last time I got enough sleep?

I’d love to know…..

Have you ever really wanted to sign up to a fitness race/ event but then talked yourself out of it?

What’s stopped you from getting started?

What’s been your biggest obstacle?

What’s scared you the most?

What have you tried in the past that’s made you feel unready or put you off signing up?

If I were to help you what would that need to look like for you?

DM me your answers, I’d love to help if I can 😊

For Me????

I know in the past anything heavy (for me) has really scared me, any type of sled push/ pull/ drag has made me question:

Can I really do this? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Am I going to embarrass myself? 🤦🏻‍♂️

Is it really worth signing up for this event & spending all the time training for it? 😩

But …….

Here’s a few things I’ve learned along the way:

1) Embrace a new challenge 👍🏻

Being a smaller guy sleds are always going to be something that doesn’t come naturally to me but it’s been fun learning new techniques and nearly bursting some blood vessels along the way trying to get better at them.

2) It’s never as bad as you think 🤔

1st time I did nuclear storm the sled drag seemed to go on forever and at one point I honestly thought I wasn’t going to get it round, same on my 1st solo Hyrox with the sled push but I did and looking at the stats after yes they weren’t my best parts of the events but they were no where near as bad as I had built up in my head.

3) The more you work on your weaknesses the better all round athlete you become 🏋️🏃

Focusing on technique and putting in loads of sled reps over the last couple of years has led to an 8-minute PB in my 2nd HYROX and an extra station in less time at my 2nd Nuclear Storm 💪🏻

The biggest change though?

The rest of my race felt a lot easier.

Hope this helps someone 😊

Just remember it’s only ever you against you

As long as you’re improving and/ or challenging yourself to something new then you’re a winner in my eyes 💪🏻💪🏻 by @garethhambleton

The most underrated form of exercise isn’t running, lifting weights or HYROX.

It’s walking.

Walking can help:

✅ Burn calories

✅ Improve recovery

✅ Reduce stress

✅ Improve health

And the best part?

Most people can do more of it without needing extra recovery.
