Magic. That’s what this place is. If you’ve ever been fortunate enough to step foot on these camp grounds, you know the feeling.

This place has a special way of bringing out the best in the people who show up. A way of pulling them out of their shell, and making sure they’re exactly where they need to be. A place that teaches you to see the value and the lessons in every little moment.

Thank you to everyone that makes this place what it is, and for impacting me more than I could ever say.

Zipped up the corduroy for one last time last week for National FFA Convention!

What a great week catching up with old friends, making new ones, and being impacted by some of the best people. I was able to attend National FFA Convention this year and serve as a NAAE #TeachAg Ambassador with 12 phenomenal individuals, as well as receive my American FFA Degree!

I’m forever grateful for the friendships and opportunities that this organization has brought me the past few years! Thank you to everyone who’s cheered me on through this crazy ride, especially some pretty amazing ag teachers Mr. Nieman and Mr. Soules, none of this would’ve been possible without people like them in my corner!

Coming into camp this year, I knew my role would be different than anything I’d ever experienced, and I’ll admit I was nervous about it.

But over 3 sessions of camp, I was reminded of why this organization and these students are held in such high regard. Camp is a magical place, and words can’t express how thankful I am to have had the opportunity to serve as a Small Group Leader this year!

To the #16 Fightin’ Flamingos, (insert CA-CAW here) you truly have changed my life for the better. Every single one of you showed me how to look at the world in a different, and better, way.

Finally, this post wouldn’t be complete without the signature phrase…

Oklahoma FFA truly and sincerely, thank you. When I joined this organization my freshman year of high school, I knew there was no way I’d make friends or be accepted. But almost five years later I stand corrected in the best way possible, surrounded by the truest friends one could have.

You’ve taught me how to be a better person, how to survive wearing corduroy in the Oklahoma summer, laugh so hard I couldn’t breathe, and everything in between. All with a smile on my face, and love in my heart.

I’ll miss the cheesy dad jokes, the ag teacher one-liners, and the people who always stood behind me, pretending I was funny…

Thanks for letting this small town guy live out a pretty big dream of his, it’s been neat, it’s been nifty, it’s been the bees knees and the cats pajamas, and I couldn’t be more grateful to have served the best state association in the country!

Thankful. An adjective, meaning “expressing gratitude and relief.”

These last six months, and this past week the only word that comes to mind, is thankful.

Thankful for an organization that has brought me the most amazing people, the biggest hugs, and the most genuine smiles.

Thankful for National FFA Convention this year and the amazing experience it brought.

Thankful for this week that was full of so many sweet reunions and some amazing new friends.

Thankful for six months of serving the greatest organization and the best FFA members in the country.

I am nothing short of amazed by this organization and all of the people within it. You all are such a huge blessing in my life and I’m so unbelievably grateful that I’ve been given the opportunity to serve you with such an amazing group of individuals.
