SHE SAID YES! 😁🥳

After months of planning how and when I was going to get pop the question, it all came into place in a matter of days in the run up to our holiday. On a sunset walk on the beach, Jo oblivious to everything even walked straight passed what I had written in the sand 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣 After some faffing about she finally walked over, followed the instructions in the sand and turned round where I was down on one knee and asked her to marry me 🥰 thankfully after a few tears from us both she said YES 😁🥳💍❤

Can’t wait to spend rest of our life’s together, here’s to the next chapter!! ❤️❤️❤️ taken in Hopeman Beach by @gary_maca

Scottish national cx champion 🏆

Lost for words, Tomorrow i turn 39 and heading into my 40th year, so to take the senior elite national champs is a special one for many reasons!

A rollercoaster of emotions winning the national champs! Not because I lost out on the title in 2021 but in amongst my battle the real battle unknown to @jo90jo & myself was just about to begin when just 3 days later she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The last year for Jo and I has been hellish but here we are as a team back again and this time on top! To be able to get to this level has been nothing short of a miracle.

The support out there yesterday was unbelievable, thank you!! 💚

Thanks @keithstockercoaching , Martín Harris and the entire team for a great event, although a course that doesn’t suit me at all it made for close racing and brought a lot more riders into play.
In the end @lewisowenmartin & myself had yet another battle royale with countless attacks we literally kicked each others heads in making it a race to remember once again! Congratulations on 2nd and thanks for pushing me beyond my limits and some! Well done to @samchisholm2004 on 3rd place, having a strong race and playing a part in the boxing ring too 💥

To my pal and coach @davielines congratulations on v40 title making it our third, double champs victory’s as @espressocyclecoaching

Huge thanks to my team @jo90jo , @iain.macdonald.9822 and @loganiainanderson , a family team 💚

2026 @3peakscx — over and out! 🏁

The best and hardest CX race in the world. A race that’s been under my skin since 2013, and one I’ll keep coming back for, year after year.

🥉 V40
11th Elite — amongst some seriously big names!

A faultless race apart from my glass back, which causes excruciating pain by Whernside and cost me some time. But we fight through it, keep pushing, and finish strong. 💪🏻

Massive thank you to my wonderful team @jo90jo and @headheartandhara — I genuinely couldn’t do it without you. It’s all about the team effort. ❤️❤️

To all the officials and organisers — what a race. It’s truly mega and completely unique. 🙌 Thank you!

Gravel racing is Type 2 into Type 3 kinda racing… and naw, I’m no talking about how coarse the gravel is.

A wee leg stretch at last week’s Scottish Gravel Champs with @gralba_series @outsider_events. Plenty of gravel, plenty of mud and just enough suffering to remind me why I apparently enjoy this sort of thing. #onlydid2laps

But this weekend is the big one… The Yorkshire 3 Peaks CX. One race where absolutely anything can happen — usually when you least expect it. 😅

Year 11! Still coming back for more punishment.

Let’s have it. 💪

Thanks @andrewleinsterphoto for superb photos 👌

A great but tough weekend at the British Cross Country MTB Championships in Scotland 🇬🇧🏔️

From the highs of Friday to the lows of today… that’s bike racing for you!

Today, the legs said “not today” almost instantly. I suffered my way round, underperformed by my own standards, but still managed to grind out 5th overall and take silver in the 40–44 category 🥈

I’m definitely my own worst critic, so it’s hard not to feel disappointed. But Friday’s short track was a completely different story — I felt strong, had an amazing battle with Paul, and we had an exciting finish that reminded me exactly why I love racing.

All in all, it was a brilliant couple of days, and it was fantastic to have the British Championships at AE Forest in Scotland. Huge credit to everyone involved in organising such a superb event — I really hope British XC returns to Scotland again soon, whether for a series round or another championship race.

Congratulations to the two champs paul oldham and phil pearce 🥇

And as always, a massive thank you to my partner in crime, @jo90jo for always being there and supporting what I love to do… apparently that means supporting my suffering too! 😂

Cheers all 🍻

British XCC Champs 🥈

• A photo finish tonight, with just 0.1 seconds separating us at the line. 🥴😭

• Really pleased with the performance and gave everything I had from start to finish.

• Massive congratulations to Paul Oldham on taking the win and becoming champion again—always a great race. 👏

• Thanks to everyone for the support, and to 📸 @jo90jo for capturing the action.
