Dear @emilwilbekin and the @nativesonnow Family,

Thank you.

Ten years ago, you had the vision and courage to create something our community desperately needed—not just an organization, but a home.

Attending the 10th Anniversary Native Son Awards was a beautiful reminder of what is possible when Black queer people are centered, celebrated, and loved out loud. The room was filled with brilliance, style, joy, and some of the most influential voices in our community, yet what moved us most was the overwhelming sense of belonging.

For one evening, we weren’t explaining ourselves, shrinking ourselves, or searching for community—we were surrounded by it. In the room with trailblazers and change makers like @durandbernarr @tamronhall @tramell.tillman @cynthiaerivo @dyllonburnside and so many more was a necessary safe space filled with joy and love.

Thank you for creating spaces where Black queer men can see themselves reflected in excellence and be reminded that our stories, our love, and our lives matter.

Congratulations on an incredible ten years of building community, creating visibility, and making so many of us feel at home.
