x The Villa pres. Glassz, Friday 17th of October.

Only 2 days left untill we're hosting @glassz.dj in the renowned club of @thevillaoslo - which also marks his Oslo club-debut.

We asked him for a note on whats cooking for his 3-hour set;

"I’m crazy excited about my Oslo club debut, spent quite a lot of time on digging lately so I’m happy to deliver a more techno oriented multi-layered peak time set, but I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t do it my way which definitely is to blend genres and trying to build the tension consistently while surprising the listener around every corner. I love longer sets so 3hrs I got are perfect to properly dive into it together with the crowd on the floor."

This is showcased in his raw n' high-energy HÖR Berlin session, the deep, mind-expanding Monument Recordings set — Glassz keeps pushing boundaries of sound and emotion. Next slides for snippets of his sound!

Oslo residents @atlasmph will be warming up the main room, while @catnip_tech & @alexander.uro will be heating up the Sweatshop all night.

🎟️ We're beyond excited to host Glassz in Oslo, don’t miss this night. Tickets on sale now!

𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐞-𝐮𝐩 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭❕

The last act of our night was unplanned. We couldn’t help ourselves to just peek through the gate a little. And in doing so unintentionally released an amorphous blob of viscous jelly that drifted out of the gate in green mist, unveiling a monster black centipede. As it was writhing on the floor uncontrollably we were quite concerned about what we had managed to release, but then the entity slowly turned into a human, demanding to be a part of our collective and get a spot on the line-up. We had no choice but to acquiesce.

Let this serve as a warning that any and all travels through the gate is done at your own risk. We do not take liability for you outside of our dimension and we do not guarantee any return ticket.

Safe travels! by @gate.collective

Next in line is Uro, the third member of Gate Collective to take the stage at The Opening, bringing his distinctive energy and passion for techno to the night.
Also known as Alexander, Uro’s sets are a journey through the raw and energetic side of techno, where hard groove, hypnotic rhythms, and dub influences merge seamlessly.

In his latest performances along side his compadre Tasteless, Uro has broken through to a specifically electric groove and cadence in his sets. Utilizing an approach to mixing that is both direct, impactfull and in the spur of the moment. So as your attention is drawn towards the driving beats on the dancefloor, you are invited to let go and enter into the vastness of this moment.

𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐞-𝐮𝐩 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭❕

The second act of our night introduces Tasteless, also known as Mike.

Upon discovering the underground techno scene in his local town, Tasteless has observed how techno artists, good sound systems and immersive visual arts can hex the crowd into hypnosis. This way of interacting with art through dance, rythm and movement has deeply inspired him ever since.

In composing his DJ sets, Tasteless likes to break down the boundaries of the different techno sub-genres, taking us down novel pathways of discovery into an estuary of the deep, the hypnotic, the groovy and the fast. Mixing dub with the rapid, groovy rythms of genres like hardgroove and the more subtle subterfuge of hypnotic techno.

Mike is also highly involved in supporting our beloved promoters and organizers that work so selflessly to drive our techno culture forward. Also often spotted behind the decks at @thevillaoslo and @ostarabar .
