If you’re still roasting potatoes the normal way, you’re missing out.

Smashed Moroccan spuds. Crispy, buttery and seriously hard to leave alone. by @gaultsnz

A punnet of Meadow Mushrooms, a few supermarket ingredients and two little tricks.

Vegetable stock concentrate for flavour, then cold butter and a quick pan shuffle to finish.

Yes, I start with olive oil and finish with butter. I’m a chef, not a monk.

Independent cafés and restaurants are closing all over New Zealand. So when I find a little gem doing seriously good food, I want to shout about it.

Providence Pantry in Paeroa is one of those places. The chicken and mushroom pie was an easy 10/10 and absolutely worth the drive.

Get behind these local gems. Use them or lose them.

Good food starts with great flavour.

Gault's Stock Concentrates give you proper stock flavour without the hours of simmering, and one pouch makes up to 8 cups.

Beef, Chicken, Vegetable and Fish. A little goes a long way.

🎯 Simon Gault is BACK.

Last time, the Gault Box Jackpot Meatbox sold out before most people even got their order in. So we went back to the pass with NZ Celebrity Chef @simon_gault and built a winter edition - same chef-approved thinking, but leaning into the cuts and flavours that make sense for the season ahead.

Scotch fillet... bolar roast... rump steak...lamb meatballs and much more. PLUS we’ve snuck in a favourite from Gault’s pantry inside.

Sweet caramelised onions, flaky pastry, creamy feta and Pukara Caramelised Balsamic are a pretty hard combination to beat.

A great piece of lamb deserves a gravy that's every bit as good.

This is one of those recipes people always ask me for.

Mum's Kiwi Meatloaf ❤️

Some recipes are about more than what's on the plate.

This is Mum's meatloaf, proper old-school Kiwi comfort food and still bloody hard to beat.

And yes, there have to be peas 😂

Creamy Moroccan Mushroom Soup 🍄

Everyone expects mushroom soup to taste like mushroom soup.

Then you take the first spoonful...

Rich mushrooms, warm spices, fresh coriander and just a touch of orange zest.

One of my favourite winter soups.

Happy days!

Still only turning your steak once?

Try turning it every minute instead. You'll get more even cooking from edge to edge while still building a great crust.

And yes... there's a classic creamy peppercorn sauce to finish it off.

Comment PEPPER and I'll send you the recipe.
