Rajnigandha isn’t even Indian!!! It’s actually native to Mexico.

And yet, it has become such a big part of Indian weddings, celebrations and memories.

Maybe it’s the beautiful white flowers.
Maybe it’s that lovely, unmistakable smell.
Or maybe it’s simply because we’ve grown up with it.

Some things just become part of us over time. 🤍

Fact check: Tuberose (Rajnigandha) is native to Mexico and is now widely grown in India. — ICAR

@akansharanjan & @sharanssharma’s wedding made me think about a design principle we rarely talk about in the wedding industry—human scale.

It’s a concept borrowed from architecture and interior design, where spaces are designed in proportion to the people experiencing them. Of course, it’s subjective, and every designer interprets it differently, but I think it’s one of the reasons this wedding feels so effortless.

For the longest time, luxury was associated with scale. Bigger stages, bigger installations, bigger everything.

But maybe the next chapter of luxury isn’t about making spaces bigger.

Maybe it’s about making them feel more intentional.

That’s just my take as a designer. I’d love to know yours.

Comment “memory” and I’ll share more articles on Van Restroff effect related to weddings and event design ✨

The Von Restorff Effect explains why people tend to remember the one element that stands out the most.

Which is why the most memorable weddings often have one strong visual anchor — a dramatic installation, an unexpected colour palette, a surreal ceiling, a striking entry moment.

People rarely remember everything.
But they almost always remember the thing that felt different. by @gaushdesign

As a wedding designer, these are the weddings I secretly love.

Not because they’re expensive.
Not because they’re trending.

Because someone clearly obsessed over the little things.

Please don’t go to designers with a budget that only buys furniture and say, we want minimal decor, we don’t need much

As a textile designer, this event made me really happy..

We often think of textiles as something we wear. But they’ve always been so much more than that. They carry memory, craftsmanship, identity, and stories passed down through generations.

Seeing a Kanjeevaram reimagined as part of the decor—not as a just another prop, but as the very language of the space—felt incredibly thoughtful.

I hope we see more events that begin with something meaningful instead of something trendy.

Because the most memorable concepts aren’t always the newest ones.

Sometimes, they’re simply the most familiar.
