#blyderivercanyon May 2026
This part of the canyon resonated with me the most on this trip. Christa and I have visited here twice before. There are four trails, but they all connect, allowing you to create your own routes, and the scenery is extraordinary. I can’t wait to return and discover more to photograph; the possibilities for compositions are endless. Thanks to my gorgeous lady @enchantedbychrista - with you, all things are possible. ❤️

I took these pictures in December last year, when I got to spend time with @enchantedbychrista, @gardenvarietykitties, @craigadams65, and my mom in the #Drakensberg. Precious times.
I only got to spend a week there, which is never enough. I’m sure I could spend months there at a time and not get bored. Anyway, half the images were taken from the garden of our accommodation, pointing my telephoto lens at the mountain and hoping for the best. I think that qualifies as “lazy photography”.
We also did some of the walks from Monk’s Cowl. The hiking is world-class, and I managed to take a few photos along the trails, especially in the forest.

Honestly, some of these edits nearly broke me.
One image took two full days to complete — I had to focus stack close to 20 separate frames just to get the wing detail aligned. Painful, but worth it.
This is part of a series I’m building for my print collection
I’ve decided — this is the year I start selling prints.

Walking through one of my favourite spots in Pretoria—Radamayers.
