At Gracie Barra Southlake and Gracie Barra Coppell, our purpose goes beyond teaching Jiu-Jitsu. We believe in building a better world by taking care of people. For us, success is measured by the people we help grow.

We deeply respect the culture and values of the country we proudly call home. As immigrant owners, we know firsthand how hard it is to start a new life in a new place. That’s why a big part of what our school generates goes back into our professors and staff. We bring talented team members from here and around the world, and we give them full support to build their lives: housing, transportation, legal visa and green card sponsorship, ongoing training, and continuing education. When we take care of our team, they can grow, thrive, and take care of our students.

As locally owned small businesses in one of the most competitive areas of North Texas, it’s a big commitment, and we’re proud of it. Thanks to a community that shares these values, it’s possible.

One belt ceremony, four promotions!. 🥹🥋❤️

Mama officially leveled up to BLUE BELT 💙 while my boys earned their GREY BELTS 🩶🥋

Watching my boys grow, learn, get tapped out 😂, get back up, and keep showing up has been one of my favorite parts of this journey. And getting to stand on that mat with them and celebrate our promotions together? A moment I’ll never forget.

They say it takes a village… apparently ours wears gis. 😂🥋

New belts. Same crazy tribe. Bigger goals. 💙🩶

Saturday, I stepped onto the mat and competed in my first JJWL tournament. 🥋❤️

I’m so proud of myself—not just for stepping onto that mat, but for having the courage to compete in front of my children, my teammates, and my loved ones. Win or learn, that moment was a victory for me 🥈

I’m incredibly grateful to my teammates who train with me, push me, challenge me, and help me become stronger every day. And to my professors, thank you for believing in me even when I doubted myself.

A very special thank you to Professor Augusto for giving me the confidence to believe that I could become a competitor. You saw something in me before I saw it in myself, and I’ll always be grateful for that. 🙏🏼

But perhaps my favorite part of this experience? My boys watching their mum step onto that mat—and now they’re saying they want to compete in the next JJWL! 🥹❤️

I can’t wait to be on the other side of the mat, cheering them on just as they cheered me on.

This is only the beginning. 🥋🔥
