6 years of health and wellness 💪🏻❤️ I genuinely cannot believe it’s been six years (!!!!) since I embarked on this life-changing journey. As I pause to reflect, one thing really stands out to me over the last year compared to the others…finally accepting that our bodies ebb and flow, just like life.

Over the last year, I was told “you gained weight” (thanks, I hadn’t noticed 😊) for the first time since embarking on this journey. Honestly? It was crushing and brought back some of my deepest fears. Thing is, sometimes, well, life happens, and just like every other human, I move less during some periods and eat more in others. I mean, who can be a superhuman 24/7? 😂 (kidding!)

But you know what ALSO happened over the last year? I became the FITTEST I have EVER been, the STRONGEST I have ever been, and the most PROUD OF MYSELF I have ever been 💪🏻
.
So yeah, I “gained weight” at some point in the last year, but I also rebounded & more. And that, my friends, is life. It’s not linear. Like every other aspect be it work, school, friends, family, mental health etc., there are ups and downs. Fitness is not exempt from that. And jeez, what an amazing revelation to finally be at peace with the yo-yo that happens to our bodies when going through life ❤️🪀 #6YearsStrong by @gbevsss

730 DAYS OF FITNESS // Two years ago, I decided it was time to change my life. Actually, scratch that..let’s start again. Two years ago, a world altering event began, which forced us all to change our lives. What I decided with this situation was to change my life for the better. Day by day, week by week, month by month, year by year (!!) my body started transforming right before my eyes. Every time I looked into the mirror, I’d see a different muscle appear. Every time I put on a pair of jeans, it felt a little looser. Every time I repeated an exercise, it felt a little easier. And here we are, two years later. I find it so challenging to put into words how I feel about my transformation. With something so big, so life changing and a journey that took me by surprise, no words could do my feelings justice. This is HUGE!! It is a great feeling when you accomplish something you never thought you could do, but there is no greater feeling in the world than when you become someone you never thought you could be. HUGE shoutout/THANK YOU to @thestudiomtl whose coaches are still by my side two years in …it’s a forever kinda thing now ❤️. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I guess part of me has no choice but to thank c0v¡d…it forced me to alter my life and become the best version of myself, discovering a passion and deep love for fitness that I never knew I had ❤️💪🏻. (And yes; the first two pictures were taken after the #SundaySermon …I had to stay on theme 😜) by @gbevsss

365 DAYS LATER // We don’t have control over many things, but we do have control over some. Though I couldn’t control a pandemic, I was able to control what I did (and still do!) as our lives were forced to slow down. 365 days later, I’ve never been prouder. When I look in the mirror, it’s not to see how much flab is on my stomach or thighs, but rather to thank my body for its strength as I test its limits every day (and fine, fine, to flex and look at the biceps I never used to see 😂). As the saying goes, “a year from now, you will have wished you had started today.” #FACTS!!! One year ago, I took my first class with @pumpfitnessmtl and @jen_mtl and I’ve never looked back. Thank you @mtlblog for posting about their free IG classes, your article literally changed my life. And thank you Val, Jen, @cowan.austrie & @vagg_troulis - I sincerely appreciate you & the dedication you have towards your craft & clients — here’s to hoping we can take some classes in person soon (though please, keep the digital studio going forever 🙏🏻)! Much love & appreciation to you four! Think we have enough pictures with Mt. Fuji? 🥲🗻 …nicknamed the “shy mountain”, Mt. Fuji is only visible 20-30% of the year. We were fortunate enough to have a full day of visibility, allowing us to hit many of the different viewpoints. The next morning, we got up at sunrise and caught the “reverse Fuji”, which is when you can see its reflection in the lake. One week later, visiting the town of Hakone, Mt. Fuji was visible in the distance, this time with its snow cap (white top) after getting its first snowfall of the season!! Pictures don’t do it justice. The craziest part is looking in the same direction when it’s not visible and when it is…you’d NEVER think this majestic thing was hiding behind the clouds. Just stunning!! by @gbevsss
