A huge thank you to The King @gordonlovesjiujitsu for leading our Breakfast Club class this morning. What an honor! Gordon walked us through ashi garami set ups, sweeps, and finishes — all of which you can find in his fantastic series of instructionals on @bjjfanatics (specifically “Systematically Attacking the Legs”). Thank you for your time teaching and training with us! Please feel free to visit any time. TECHNIQUE OF THE WEEK — Turning your guard retention into an offensive cycle. Professor Robert demonstrates the importance of not just retaining guard but how to turn that defensive action into an offensive one. Jiu Jitsu is often referred to as “human chess” because you have to think one step ahead of your opponent. Make them play YOUR game by using your defense to set up your attacks.
