Most of the people I speak to on a daily basis have different goals.

Some join the challenge to lose weight, some join to build muscle and some just want to be a sexy beast lol

And my answer is always the same...

Lifting weights is the best way to achieve those goals

I've been there and done all of that,

I've worked with hundreds of people over the years and helped them with all of those goals

And the I AM GREAT program is my way of taking it to another level

So if you're trying to be a sexy beast...

Now's the time to jump on board, we kick off on Monday

At 35, Dan couldn’t tie his shoelaces without his gut getting in the way.

This is a bloke who trained his whole life. Rugby as a kid in Auckland, always the fit one. Then he moved to Oz, and somewhere in his thirties he lost himself. Drinking Friday to Sunday, for years.

One morning he caught himself in the mirror looking ten years older than he was. That was the day he decided.

He went back to the old school way of training and started turning up like he meant it. Deciding was the easy part. Having something to turn up to every week is what kept him going.

He’s 45 now, and he looks younger than he did at 35.

We hear the same thing from men every week. “I used to be the fit one.” If that’s you, it’s not how it ends. It’s where it turns.

DM us “PLAN” and we’ll show you how we’d build it around your week. by @gc_stallion

Dan met the love of his life when he was just 17 years old.

At 19, they packed a couple of bags, left New Zealand and moved to Australia with next to nothing.

They built a life together on the Gold Coast. Raised their kids. Made memories. Built a future.

The kind of life you dream about when you’re young.

But that future was taken away from them.

Dan’s wife was diagnosed with cancer.

For 18 months, he watched the woman he’d loved since he was a teenager fight for her life.

And at just 40 years old, he lost her.

His wife. His best friend. The mother of his children.

The person he’d spent more than half his life beside.

What followed were some of the darkest years of Dan’s life.

He shut himself away from the world.

Some mornings, it took him five hours just to find the strength to get out of bed.

There were days when even making his kids’ school lunches felt impossible.

But through everything, there was one part of his life he never let go of.

Training.

Even while his wife was battling cancer, Dan continued competing in bodybuilding.

And for years after losing her, he kept showing up.

Not because life was getting easier.

But because for that one hour in the gym, he had somewhere to escape everything he was going through.

Today, Dan is 45 years old. A father. A grandfather. And we’re incredibly proud to introduce him as the newest coach here at DFIT.

A man who’s experienced some of life’s greatest highs and unimaginable lows, yet continues to show up.

When you meet Dan, you see a big, strong, incredibly fit bloke.

But behind that physique is a story most people would never know.

And that’s exactly why we wanted to share it.

Because there’s a hell of a lot more to a man than what you see on the outside. by @gc_stallion

We’ve heard “yeah mate, I’m keen to get started” from hundreds of blokes.

Plenty of them never did.

I’ll start next week. A few beers won’t matter. I’ll join the gym when work settles down.

We’re not having a go. For a few years in his thirties, that was Dan too.

What we’ve learned is the difference is never discipline. Everyone knows what to do.

The bloke who turns it around decides it for himself. Not for the missus, not because his GP said so. Then he gives it everything, because half hearted doesn’t change a thing.

So be honest about who you’re doing it for.

Wanting it is the decision. Structure is what makes it stick, and that’s the part we run.

If you’ve made the decision, DM us “PLAN” and we’ll show you how we’d build it around your week. by @gc_stallion

Well done, my baby! Congratulations — I’m incredibly proud of you.

I also want to acknowledge and thank your coach, Ella, for the beautiful message and card she wrote for you. Every word was absolutely true, and she captured it perfectly. Reading it brought tears to my eyes and touched my heart deeply.
