This is something I have been working on for the last two and months. It is a recreation of an original outfit currently in the Victoria and Albert museum, attributed to Paul Poiret.

From the moment I saw the original I knew I wanted a version of it myself and so set out, with little more than a photo and a scant description of the garments, to make my own. There were some mishaps during the making of this and some techniques I will not be using again but I am please with the end result overall.

I wore this to to see Juno Birch and Liquorice Black perform in Attack of the Stunning last weekend and got lots of compliments.

Well, it’s time to reveal what I have been working on for the last two months. My Halloween costume!

Both the blouse and the skirt were made using patterns from the 1920s, with some adjustments and modifications here and there. Overall, I’m very pleased with it and I have gotten a lot of compliments as well.

The boots from @memeryshoes really complete the look.

Now, where is Popeye …

Beekman is very shy and won’t let us pet him but he has started to hang out with me in bed. He’s keeping a respectful distance but I can tell he’s eager to cuddle. by @gebertram
