Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan! 🇵🇭

Shop is open again!

Today we celebrate Philippine Independence Day, but thousands of families have been affected by the catastrophic earthquake in Mindanao. In the wake of this tragedy, part of the proceeds from this drop will be donated to relief efforts. We greatly appreciate the support. #bayanihan

As I complete another trip around the sun, I want to celebrate by sharing one of the things I’m extremely grateful for—still being able to dance. I don’t always plan something big or plan my birthday in general, but this year I really just wanted to create and share. I haven’t choreographed a personal piece in a cool minute. I get so caught up with work and just directing and creating for my students. So I set a date for it and found a spot. Now I have no excuse. Lol. And what better way to do it than to share at my old dance home @westcoastdancethtr It is homecoming season at work so it’s only fitting.

Speaking of work, another thing I’m very thankful for is the group of teenage brats @jmhs_hiphop LOL jk. Ish. Last month was the 10 year mark of the first workshop I taught as a guest instructor. 10 years later, I taught my 473829th audition workshop as their coach/director/choreographer/graphic designer/photographer/videographer/dj/apparel designer/content creator/club supervisor/therapist/etc. LOL. Jokes aside, they might be the reason I’m still dancing besides my genuine love for the art. Providing guidance and passing on everything I know while simultaneously remaining a student has given me purpose. And I’m beyond grateful for everyone who’s been part of this crazy journey of a decade. For a school that has no official dance department, we’ve done well on our own with the support of our small circle who has our back.

I try to provide for my students as much as I can so with that being said, I’m not charging for this workshop but if you have the means, donate what you can to support me and my program this school year. Whatever amount would be greatly appreciated. If not, just come get down with yo boy. That would already mean a lot to me. We out here. ✌️

Swipe for old pieces to catch the vibe. Some pieces choreographed at the studio and exchanges with the homies. Spoiler: we doing R&B. It’s been a long time coming. 😏 by @geddimaster
