There’s a very specific kind of frustration that comes with watching a really good movie and having nobody to talk about it with.

You know when something happens and you’re already forming theories, analysing the character’s decision, or thinking, “Wait, did you guys see what I just saw?!” only to realise nobody you know has watched it.

Now you’re just there with all these thoughts and nowhere to put them.

Sometimes, a good movie doesn’t just need popcorn; it needs a good conversation afterwards.

There’s a very strange kind of comfort in finding out you’re not the only one struggling.

Sometimes, all you need to hear is “me too” and suddenly the situation doesn’t feel quite as tragic anymore.

But honestly, life will humble all of us at some point; failed exams, missed opportunities, wrong decisions, embarrassing moments and everything in between.

The important thing is to learn, laugh when you can, and keep going.

Because one bad moment is not the full story and sometimes, the things we cried about become the stories we laugh hardest about later.

Grief has a way of making us want to hold on to anything that makes our loved one feel close.

Sometimes, even saying goodbye feels impossible because it feels too final. But I've come to believe that a burial isn't the end of love, it's the beginning of healing. It's the moment we acknowledge a painful reality, honor the life they lived, and slowly learn how to carry their memory instead of waiting for them to come back.

The pain doesn't disappear after that, but healing has somewhere to begin.

Grief doesn't always change you in loud, obvious ways. Sometimes it quietly reshapes the way you see the world, the things that excite you, the dreams you chase, and even the version of yourself you recognize. For a while, I thought I'd lost parts of me forever. Then someone reminded me that I wasn't the same person they once knew and they were right.

But healing has a beautiful way of returning you to yourself, not as the person you were, but as someone stronger, softer, and more intentional. I'm still healing. I still have hard days. But I'm smiling a little more, creating again, and slowly falling in love with life in ways I never thought I would.

If you're in that place where you're wondering if you'll ever feel like yourself again, don't give up. Healing isn't about going back. It's about discovering the version of you that survives, grows, and chooses to live again.

You know they're gone, yet every so often, something as simple as a word, a memory, or the way someone speaks about them catches you off guard. And for a moment, your heart has to face the reality all over again.

Today makes it a week since I had the privilege of speaking with the Library Club students on self-discovery, values, and goal setting.

It was a truly engaging session, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to share, learn, and connect with such bright young minds.
