💕Mother to Oaklyn. 🙏🏽Daughter of the Most High. 🩺Hyperthyroidism journey

POSTS STORIES REELS

A Storybook parade at my daughters school this morning. And shoutout to the Miramar High School marching band , they were incredible. I’m so grateful to be able to show up for my babygirl💕 by @geenastashia

I’m becoming the woman I once prayed for—softer, wiser, stronger, and more confident. I’m learning to walk boldly in who I am, trust the woman I’m becoming, and embrace everything God is calling me to be. 🤍✨#fyp #confidence #38 #aginglikefinewine #mommy by @geenastashia

I can honestly say, that at 38, I thought I would be in a different place. A successful career, the marriage, the family, etc., and those are still absolutely things that I still desire. However, what I’m trying to learn is that there is still time. Your circumstances can change when God says so, and so I’m really trying to be obedient and enjoy where I’m at right now.

I’m a stay at home mother, got to raise my daughter without putting her in daycare even though it was still so challenging to work from home and still have to provide. But I’m now in a season where I’m reflecting on all of the blessings I do have, despite where I feel like I should have been at 38.

A lot of the reason why I’m saying this is because I allowed grief to hold me down for a long time, which affected me in many ways, and I believe God has been calling me to something for a long time and never took advantage of it up until now. I now look at it as if He had me wait for a reason, and now I’m going full speed.

Okay I’m back!!

Today has been the first day within the last two months that I’ve been able to do any kind of physical activity without feeling as if I will faint, and extremely fatigued. I’ve lost a lot of weight, as well as hair on top of all that.

Last week, I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, meaning I have an overactive thyroid, and have not felt like myself for a while. I’m on a small does of medication, and honestly today I felt phenomenal. I know there will be days where I’m not 100%, but I’m taking full advantage of the surge of energy I got.

Almost 4,000 steps this morning, and bessss believe I’m gonna get back on my game.

I’m built different. 💪🏽✨

Not because life has been easy, but because I’ve had to learn how to keep going when the obstacles in front of me felt impossible to overcome.

There have been moments when I’ve questioned myself, cried, felt overwhelmed, and wondered how I was going to get through it all. But somehow… I keep getting back up.

And I want to remind the moms who are watching this: START POSTING. 📲

Stop waiting until you have the perfect body, perfect house, perfect routine, perfect life, or everything figured out.

Your story could be the very thing another mom needs to hear today.

Somebody needs your perspective.
Somebody needs your encouragement.
Somebody needs to know they’re not the only one struggling.
Somebody needs to see a mom who is figuring it out in real time and STILL showing up.

So post the video. Share the testimony. Tell the story. Show the journey.

We don’t have to be perfect to be impactful. 🤍

We’re built different. We’re resilient. And our stories matter. ✨

There’s no place like home 💕 by @geenastashia

Today, as I watched my daughter at church, I couldn’t help but see the incredible leader God is shaping her to be. Her confidence, kindness, and willingness to participate reminded me that leadership isn’t just about being in front—it’s about having a heart that inspires others.

Seeing her stand tall, learn, worship, and engage with those around her filled me with so much pride. I truly believe she is destined to make an impact wherever God leads her. As her mom, it’s such a blessing to witness these little glimpses of the young woman she is becoming.

Keep shining, sweet girl. The world needs the light, courage, and love that God has placed inside of you. 💕✨ #ProudMama #FutureLeader #FaithFilled #ChurchDay #GrowingInGrace by @geenastashia

✨Peace Walk and Peace Talk✨

Made a very last minute decision to join in on this walk this morning in support of Trayvon Martin, who would have been turning 31 this year. I tried my best to explain to my daughter while we were going, and she was fixated on “seeing TrayBON” 😂 And when we had to leave she began to cry because she said she didn’t want to leave him.

That made me so emotional and even more eager to become more plugged into the community. We weren’t able to stay long enough to see his parents speak, but just knowing they have done this faithfully on behalf of Trayvon really shows how much he meant to so many people.

It was so beautiful to see their community come together in his remembrance. Will definitely be supporting this every year from this day and forward. He should still be here. @thetrayvonmartinfoundation #trayvonmartin #trayvonmartinfoundation by @geenastashia
