I had my 2nd post-op today with neuro-ophthalmology and got really great news.

My 1st post-op showed a decrease in my field of vision, high pressure in my eyes and swollen optic nerves. I was pretty heartbroken.

Today my field of vision is back to normal, the pressure in my eyes has stabilized, and the swelling in my optic nerves has gone down. Dr. Cohen said I had the best results she had seen all day and that I might even graduate from their program at my next visit in June 💛✨🙏

Tldr: The surgery worked 🥳 I won't need a shunt and probably won't need any other interventions. That feels like freedom and getting my life back. Also, feels very lucky considering that it isn't usually that easy with this disease.

How am I celebrating? Honestly, by working hard these next couple of days so I can actually rest. Friday I’m turning my phone off and going to hang out with @ylncle (who has been such a surprise blessing this year💛) at their Ugly Sweater Holiday Party. I’ll be celebrating a friend’s baby dedication, baking cookies with friends, going on a date with a very lovely human this weekend🥺, maybe planning a trip or two for next year, writing cards… all the cozy things ☺️

Yea, the world feels like it's on fire and there's plenty of other things going on.. but I'm going to savor this. by @geliconsazon

Life is weird. If you can.. appreciate art, love good people, eat stellar food, and say "yes" whenever possible to new experiences and joy. We'll figure out the rest. 💛
