the best day of 2024 🤍 by @gemmarap
As a new potter, I wanted to challenge myself to create something special for my wedding. I am proud to say that after 7 months of continuous work, I was able to gift each of my guest a custom coaster engraved with their name. A total of 150 guests, but don’t be fooled, many mistakes were made along the way. I, in total, made over 200 coasters. A look into the process: first I wedged the clay and used a stencil to cut out the shape on slabs. Then after some drying, I trimmed each coaster on the wheel to give it its final design. I then customized each coaster, fired and glazed. One coaster took about 4 weeks from start to completion. My first large bulk project, hopefully not my last, but will probably take a break from making any coasters for a while ✨🥂 by @gemmarap
