I finally made it out to see “The Rest is Drag” at @516_arts 🥹 seeing my drag on display at an art show filled me with so much gratitude. Thankful for the journey I’m on, thankful for the opportunities that have come my way. It’s just the beginning in many ways. Thank you @apologomez for seeing me and including me in this. Thank you @olivia.amayaortiz curating this show and shining a light on local drag. #abqartwalk #artshow #dragqueen #505 #downtownabq taken in 516 ARTS by @gemmarhoid

I’ve had the privilege of documenting New Mexico drag performers in their spaces, where the work is made before it reaches the stage. Like how artists are often photographed in their studios, surrounded by the tools and materials that shape their work. These are the places where costumes are assembled, wigs are styled, and makeup is applied.

Featured here is 🖤 @gemmarhoid 🖤 This portrait is currently on view at @516_arts ARTS through October as part of “The Rest is Drag”, curated by @olivia.amayaortiz by @gemmarhoid

My look for the New Mexico Entertainment Awards this past weekend- wearing a collection of colorful items I’ve accumulated from my drag family. Thankful to have been nominated this year. ✨
