SIX YEARS.

Six years of a journey I thought would take less.

Six years of lectures, examinations, friendships, laughter, growth, dreams… and moments that tested every part of me.

There were school strikes that brought everything to a standstill.

There were delays I never planned for.

There were challenges I couldn’t control, moments of uncertainty, and seasons when I wondered, “When will this finally end?”

But somehow, I kept going.

I started this journey as a girl with dreams.

Today, I am leaving as a woman who has lived, learned, stumbled, grown, and found strength in herself.

UNILAG gave me more than a degree.

It gave me memories I’ll carry forever.

It gave me opportunities to discover myself through academics, pageantry, leadership, advocacy, friendships, creativity and the many different things I dared to try.

From becoming Miss Jambite UNILAG…

To becoming Miss UNILAG Second Runner-Up…

To serving, creating, representing, learning and growing…

I look back and realise that every version of me along the way was necessary.

There were beautiful moments.

There were painful moments.

There were moments I felt lost.

But through it all, I kept showing up.

And maybe that’s what this moment means the most to me.

Not just that I graduated…

But that I didn’t give up.

Six years later, I finally get to say:

I DID IT.

To the girl who started this journey years ago
I hope you’re proud of the woman standing here today.

I may not know exactly what the future holds.

But after everything it took to get here, I know I’m ready for whatever comes next.

This chapter took longer than expected.

But maybe it took exactly as long as it needed to.

So here’s to six years of becoming.

Six years of memories.

Six years of lessons.

Six years of growth.

And one beautiful ending…

that is actually a beginning.

UNILAG, thank you for the memories.

And to me
