What a treat to have attended this year’s @britishartfair at @saatchi_gallery!

A huge congrats to @rebekahtolleydigitalist for another cracking year of DIGITALISM‼️ It’s a real pleasure to be an official partner, providing a vast range of printing, mounting and framing services for exhibiting artists 🧡

This is the central image from my final project, Night Shift, exhibited at @inspiredaub as part of the @aub_baphoto degree show.

Printed by @genesis_imaging at 40 × 30 inches (101.6 × 76.2 cm) on aluminium Dibond with Baryta paper, this photograph was captured at Popworld Bournemouth.

The image draws inspiration from the work of Bill Bernstein, Ron Galella, and the photographers who documented the legendary nights of Studio 54, capturing fleeting moments of freedom, performance, and celebration within nightlife culture.

This photograph explores the raw authenticity of youth culture in the South of England through nightlife, live music, and club spaces. Influenced by Michel Foucault’s concept of heterotopia, it captures one of those split-second moments when the music drops and people lose themselves completely—no longer thinking about how they look, act, or perform, but simply existing in the experience.

The longer you spend looking at the image, the more details begin to emerge. From the Photo Booth sign tucked away in the background to the individual expressions and interactions across the frame, it’s a photograph that reveals something new every time you return to it.

Captured on a Canon EOS 77D with the standard 18–55mm kit lens, using ISO 800, 1/250 sec, and f/8, this image is proof that meaningful photographs come from the moment and the eye behind the camera—not just the equipment.

Announcing the FORMAT27 Open Call Genesis Metro Award

One artist selected through the FORMAT27 Open Call will receive the Genesis Metro Award of £1,000 credit for photographic printing and finishing services, generously supported by @genesis_imaging.

The award will support the production of the recipient's exhibition at FORMAT27 International Photography Festival, taking place in Derby from 11 March–11 April 2027.

The Genesis Metro Award is one of several awards available through the FORMAT27 Open Call, which offers selected artists the opportunity to exhibit at FORMAT27 alongside financial support, exhibition production, travel and accommodation for the festival launch, and a group exhibition at Photofusion, London.

⏳ Early Bird entry: €22 until 24 July 2026
📅 Submission deadline:6 September 2026

It’s a sunny weekend and my Goose Poo & Rainbow photographic installations at @rhsbridgewater will be shadow catchers and fly islands. Developed as part of my residency at the garden since 2024, this series iconizing found objects from the historic woodland. They include strange and mundane things such as a dummy, an ox bone, an air rifle, a leather shoe, a position bottle, and a brick bearing the very name ‘Middle Wood’. Photographing them in such way is to give life back to the objects through light shaping and composition. Their large-scale return to Middle Wood feels profound. For a photographer, my work is always part of me with concentrated investment of feeling, longing, thinking and making. Now that part of me is there for a year, with the rain, sun , rainbows and trees. Pop in and have a stroll if you’re in the area. The prints are UV printed on aluminum, by @genesis_imaging . The work is commissioned by @rhsbridgewater , @uos_artcollection and @openeyegallery by @genesis_imaging
